I would suggest you to speak to your doctor regarding the kind of brace that you would need. If the doctor has suggested it then its a good brace. if you are not wearing them over a a pair of socks then i would suggest you do as it then prevents irritation to the skin. I have bought them as i play tennis and it helps keep my ankle stable.
