DMM Captain

If you climb like I climb then you’re high like every day. The captain makes the job unfair, like its to good to be true, before it was a puzzle and a pretty cool challenge to traverse big canopies. Now climbing is pure fun, playing a childhood game, climbing throwing around a hook like you’re Spider-Man, unbelievable how fast I move through the climbing, literally cut my climbing time in half. I’m an ISA certified arborist and an ISA certified tree climber specialist, not saying I’m the best but I’m definitely bada** at what I do, The captain , a necessary upgrade for the serious climber arborist. This thing rocks. It works just like the videos on you-tube. It's amazing now easily it releases. I've found that if the target branch is too fat for the hook, you can throw it all the way over, turn the point of the hook toward yourself and lasso the hook with some of your climbing line that's hanging off you. Then you can haul the hook back to yourself and pull yourself across with a 2:1 mechanical advantage. I like having a quick-link on my hook for stuff like that. The shackle they put on it is great, but it doesn't let you do quick removal of the hook from the rope in the tree. I love having this hook when I'm doing ponderosa pines. It makes hopping from one tree to the other really easy.

This thing is a bit bulky and I leave it on the ground then pull it up when needed but is awesome for moving around the tree in the canopy.

Great product and construction is phenomenal. Dmm produces high end equipment makes traversing from far away branches so easy

...for changing locations in the canopy. Much better than a grapple hook.
