I get that nails on chalkboard feeling from touching frosted glass. Will this file be a problem for me?

I get that feeling from all nail files, I just had to get used to it. If frosted or etched glass specifically is a problem, you might want to stay away, because this file is exactly that.

What is the grit on the two surfaces of the nail file?

The grit seems approximately the same on both surfaces of the nail file. I use the file on natural nails; and, it's a comfortable grit that is both effective and does not shred natural nails or cut into the surrounding skin.

Does it matter whether you use a buffing cream with this?

This is not a nail buffer, so you wouldn't use a buffing cream with it. This is a glass FILE, it's to be used only on the free edge of the nail, to shape the nail. It's not to be used on the surface of the nail as a buffer, and would not work well for that purpose.

So easy on your natural nails

This crystal nail file is so much more gentle and easier to use than a standard Emory board. I also surprisingly like the plastic tube it came in to store it. I had a different brand that came with a nice holder but the top kept coming off and I can’t tell you how many of them I broke that way. Opi makes a nice one

"Splurge" on this file! Don't buy the cheaper files!

I've been using this nail file for years. I've finally decided to buy another one. I've used other brands, cheaper brands, and they aren't made like this one. They've ruined my nails and I'm going to have to throw them out because they've just made my nails more brittle. They don't glide along the nail like this file. The "splurge" is worth it according to me!

File is ok, but too expensive. How can stop auto reorder?

File is ok. Cost is not worth it. My local store stopped selling them. But somehow my first order with Amazon got auto reorder every 90 days. I changed it on their site when they sent the first one. But just got an email saying they are not available on a new reorder. I canceled the order, but can't find option to change. As if it would work. Please get it stopped or email me directions.

Have used this nail file for years and love it!

A family member gave me an OPI crystal nail file 16-17 years ago and I have used it ever since. I have really fast growing and hard nails, so I'm constantly filing them. I'd never go back to using the cardboard files again unless OPI quit making the crystal kind. Then a month or so ago, I accidentally dropped the old OPI nail file on our tile bathroom floor and it broke in half. The individual pieces were still usable, but my husband found a replacement on Amazon and ordered it for me. I'm so happy to have a new one. Just make sure that you don't do what I did and drop it on a hard surface. I took one star away for sturdiness, because it is made of crystal and will break if you drop it. I think my husband paid full price for it and I have not been paid for my review!

The most amazing nail file I’ve ever used!

I read about this OPI crystal nail file in a beauty article I receive in my email. It was rated as the top nail file to use. I was happy to find it on Amazon. This is truly a gem to have. It takes very little effort when filing my nails with it. The end result is the smoothest nails I’ve ever experienced & with very little effort. It comes in a its own container specifically designed to hold it. Since this is crystal based I would suggest filing delicately when using. For me filing my nails is part of my self care so I take my time. I could foresee it easily breaking if used with force or dropping it. This is truly a 5 star & beyond nail filer with longevity & well worth the cost. I highly recommend it!
