Designed for universal compatibility and weather resistance, it includes a watertight dust cap and powder-coated finish to withstand the elements. Two keys provide convenient access control, making it an essential upgrade for securing trailers, campers, and towing accessories. ## Description Make your tow vehicle and trailer more secure by keeping them locked up tight with a CURT hitch lock. Like a hitch pin and clip, a hitch lock is designed to insert into the fastener hole in the side of a receiver tube in order to hold a ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory in place. While a CURT hitch pin does offer sufficient strength for keeping your ball mount firmly attached, a CURT hitch lock goes one step further. CURT hitch locks allow you to lock your ball mount into your trailer hitch, deterring theft and preventing anyone from detaching your trailer at the ball mount and towing away your property without your permission. This CURT hitch lock features a barbell design and comes with a 5/8" pin diameter to fit a 2" receiver tube size (usable pin length is 2.850"; will not work with double-walled receiver tubes). CURT barbell hitch locks are comprised of a pin with two end caps and a round locking mechanism. They are key-operated and activate with a simple 1/4-turn. They also come with a watertight dust cap to keep out the elements and prevent corrosion. For the ultimate in towing security, a hitch lock and coupler lock used together will provide security at both the vehicle-side and trailer-side of your towing setup. For your boat, ATV or camper, keep your toys more secure with CURT hitch locks. ## Features - DEPENDABLE SECURITY. To protect your trailer and trailer hitch ball mount from theft, this locking hitch pin is made with high-strength steel construction - EASY TO OPERATE. The barbell-style locking hitch pin promotes an impenetrable appearance to deter theft, and uses a simple 1/4-turn lock activation for convenient locking and unlocking as needed - VERSATILE. With a 5/8-inch diameter pin and 2.85 inches of usable pin length, this receiver hitch lock fits virtually any 2-inch x 2-inch hitch receiver with a 5/8-inch hole (not compatible with double-walled receiver tubes) - WATERTIGHT. The internal components of this hitch lock can easily be protected from the elements with the included watertight dust cap, while the entire hitch lock is shielded against corrosion with a durable powder coat finish - TWO KEYS INCLUDED. For your convenience, two keys are included with this trailer hitch lock. You can keep the spare key in a discrete location for emergencies or give it to a friend for helpful access ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00T9N6DPK | | Best Sellers Rank | #10,882 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #28 in Towing Hitch Locks | | Brand | CURT | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (17,290) | | Date First Available | February 6, 2015 | | Exterior | Painted | | Item Weight | 10.2 ounces | | Item model number | 23518 | | Manufacturer | CURT | | Manufacturer Part Number | 23518 | | Model | 23518 | | OEM Part Number | 23518 | | Product Dimensions | 8.87 x 1.87 x 1.25 inches | ## Images ![23518 5/8" Barbell Hitch Lock for 2" Receivers, Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61aFDneUW5L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - CURT 23518 Black Trailer Hitch Lock, 5/8-Inch Pin Diameter, Fits 2-Inch Receiver - Rhino USA Hitch Tightener Anti Rattle Clamp (for 2 inch Hitches) Heavy Duty Steel Trailer Hitch Stabilizer - Weatherproof Protective Anti-Rust Silencer for Bike Rack, Hitch Receiver & More! - Mission Automotive 3 Pack Silencer Pads for 2 Inch Ball Mounts - Reduces Rattle and Noise Between Receivers and Tow - Fits Any Trailer Hitch Receiver - Trailer Hitch Stabilizer Silencer Pad --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/16745041-23518-5-8-barbell-hitch-lock-for-2-receivers-black](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/16745041-23518-5-8-barbell-hitch-lock-for-2-receivers-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-11-05*
