A fast holiday read.
I am a big fan of Debbie Macomber and her holiday books. A very cute holiday story, a bit predictable, but nevertheless very enjoyable. Twelve Days of Christmas can't compare to her holiday angels, but still a good holiday story. This would be a great experiment to try, kill everyone with kindness.

Delightful!
I have read many books by this author including the Christmas themed ones. The past two years have been very difficult and depressing due to my mothers increase in ailments which led to her death. Then a few months later I became extremely I'll with months in hospitals then e end more months recovering, which I'm close to. This included moving twice and being broadsided on my way home from purchasing a car. Thus, when I saw this book I had to read it. It more than met my expectations and just what I needed.I highly recommend this book even if your life is healthy and happy. The "killing with kindness" experiment should be repeated by all of us. There is too much pain and loneliness in our world. So read away and see if there is someone in your neighborhood who needs kindness. The apply whatever kindness you are able to give.

A sweet Christmas tale
This book was right at the top of my Debbie Macomber favorites. I had just finished reading Merry and Bright, Debbie's latest Christmas story, and needed a little more of my 'Debbie fix', so I bought Twelve Days. Am so glad did! As is always the case, Debbie's fairly predictable ending, however, as she always does, she made the trip to the end delightful. She helps lead you forward meeting and then becoming friends with each character, even the pets. Thank you Debbie for helping my Christmas spirit. Can't wait to see what he adventures you'll take us on in 2018.

I Love This Book
I started this book early this morning, haven't even had time to steadily read it all day, yet I am already on page 88, showing that I love the book to pieces, find it so sweet and funny, and have no complaints at all about it so far. I hope that doesn't change.I've read a few of Debbie's books in the recent past, and wasn't particularly crazy about them, so she hasn't been up there with my long list of favorite authors, but this book is up there with my favorite books by far.I've yet to find it boring like some of those who gave it poor ratings. I don't think that's going to happen and I'm an avid reader.22Good going, Debbie!!!

Cute holiday romance
Twelve days of Christmas is a cute and inspiring story. Debbie Macomber introduces us to two very different characters, cheerful Julie and her embittered neighbor Cain. Cain is as rude is gets, so Julie, who can't stand him, decides to do a 12 day challenge of killing him with kindness. The story proves that when you give kindness to even the worst of people amazing results happen. The story even inspired me to do my own kindness challenge too.

Christmas story
You can always depend on Debbie Macomber to give you a good easy reading experience. I have enjoyed all of her books and even though I don't usually read Christmas books, I read it because it was one of Debbie's. It was a quick read and I found it following a usual romance formula - boy meets girl, they dislike each other but when they get to know each other friendship quickly turns to romance. Despite the formula, I still found it a relaxing fun book to read during the hectic Christmas season.

Great
As always Debbie Macomber wrote a wonderful book. I admit I hesitated buying the book, because I don't like spending over $10 for an e-book ( ok, so I'm cheap). Since I've never read a book written by Debbie Macomber that I didn't love, I brought it. I'm glad I did. Great story, well written, romance, no sex. I loved the book. I will re-read it again & again.

Feel good, fuuny, festive read - good at any time of the year...
I am on a quest to read all of Debbie Macomber's books. This one I had bought on kindle, I pre order all of this authors books as they become available, but I also won a paperback copy which I passed onto a friend. This book is about Julia and Cain, neighbours across the hall in an apartment block on Seattle.Julia is friendly, outgoing and loves Christmas, she's a doer and loves helping people. Cain is the opposite, grumpy, especially in the mornings, keeps himself to himself and absolutely, has nothing to do with the Christmas season. As with all Debbie's books you know when you buy it that a romance is going to take place, but its not necessarily how the story starts out. It's how the 2 parties come to realise their attraction which makes the book.In the case of this book, Julia is working in Macy's while she looks for her dream job. She finished college with a degree in communications, but she took longer than most as she didn't want to land herself in debt, so for the last couple of years of the course she worked and did the course part time. It's December and she applied for a job after 7 years of working at Macys; this is her dream role in communications but 2 people are in the frame so her potential employers set the 2 candidates a task, write a blog, the blog with the highest number of followers gets the job.Simple you may think, but Julia is having problems getting people to read her blog. Her best friend cones up with an idea after Julia has a few run ins with Cain in the mornings. She suggests Julia metaphorically kill Cain with kindness, and writes a blog about how she does this. This follows a funny read about how Julia goes all out to show Caun that not everyone is like him, that there are kind people in the world. Can she get through the armour he's put on after events in his life which have destroyed his faith in people? As always a great read from this fantastic author. A good read any time of the year, not just Christmas.

a very interesting story .
This is a very interesting read. Julia Padden lives in an apartment in Seattle and works in Macy’s department store. She is hoping to get a job in social media. Her next door neighbour Cain Maddox is an actuary working for an insurance company. He is very reserved and more of a recluse, and does not warm up easily to people. Julia is very cheerful and chatty first thing in the morning, something which Cain is not keen on.So their chance meeting in the elevator on the route to work each morning left Julia with the impression that her neighbour is a ‘cold fish’ because he was not reciprocating her morning cheer and sunshine mood. When she caught him one morning taking her newspaper because someone had taken his, she decided to call her longtime friend Cammie in Denver to moan about her ‘grouch’ of a neighbour. Cammie suggested she ‘kill him with kindness’ and not only that she should blog about her project entitled - twelve days of christmas. She also needed a successful follower-ship on the blog to get her social media job. So begins the project kindness to see if it will change ‘Ebenezer’ the fictional name she gave to her neighbour Does kindness change people? What will be the consequences of this change? How will they build a relationship knowing that she is blogging about everything? The premise of this story is good - little random acts of kindness to change peoples lives. However the assumption that she needed to change Cain because he was reserved and not a chatty person was to me a bit condescending. She basically made his cultivated reserve and desire to keep his own company about her, "he does not like me" , "he is not very nice", "I need to change him”. I am also glad she learnt the biggest lesson, kindness has to come from a place of love for your neighbour , not from a place of superiority and prejudice. One of the deep reflections reading the book offered me is the problem we have in relationships when people make it all about their point of view and not about the other person. You call a friend and she did not answer, you immediately assume she got your call but she is trying to avoid you when in reality she may not have received your call or she has other problems that made it impossible to return your call. I found that Julia was an epitome example of this, Cain did not meet her at the elevator one morning , she assumed the worst, it was because he stood her up, but in reality he was sick and numerous other examples. We assume too much about other persons thoughts and intentions and form our actions accordingly. I think if you wish to be kind to your neighbour or kill him with kindness, we need to start from a simpler place of being unassuming in our thoughts and being kind and considerate in our thoughts of our neighbours. For this reason I was rooting from the hero more than for the heroine in this book, although in the end she came to realise she was prejudiced and judgmental in her initial assessment of the situation, the more she learned about him from his grandfather. Her project kindness changed her more than she expected and forced her to reflect. Her moments of introspection was very revealing. I enjoyed the book and you can see that because it also caused me to reflect and give my two pence opinion about being unassuming and keeping our thoughts pure even towards a ‘grouchy’ neighbour because his grouchiness may not be about you but all about his own circumstances. The storyline is very engaging I literally got this package from amazon on my return from work at 8pm and I did not put the book down till the early hours of the next day when I finished reading it. It is a good story, has a lot of life lessons. One such lesson being that kindness should not be limited to the twelve days of christmas, but that we should be kind at all times or put in another way we should have the christmas spirit all year round.
