Review: This is just adorable! We bought it for our cat Lancelot - This is just adorable! We bought it for our cat Lancelot, who just celebrated a big anniversary - and he deserved an awesome treat! The cardboard this is made of is extremely sturdy, and all in all, the shape seems to balance well. I think it's going to hold up well to claws. I can't wait to save up a little more money (since they're not cheap, obviously) and add a second shape. Review: Awsome! - I love these! My cats love them! They are awesome! I managed to snag a whole set of the different shapes, plus an extra zigzag, as they were disappearing from desertcart before my eyes! I have them arranged like stairs and a platform under the upstairs hall windows and the cats love scratching, climbing and sitting on them to look out the window. The extra zigzag, I have sitting on a half wall near the living room, so they can use it as an extra step to get to the top of the display case and to the upper window. My house is now totally catified! :)

Sort of works
In theory, this module cat furniture is great - in reality, not so much. We bought three different shaped pieces to make a cat tree/scratcher. The sections are a bit too small for a average size cat to enjoy, and the clips are useless! They do not fit tight - just slide right off, so the whole thing is unstable. We ended up putting the clips in place and wrapping clear packing tape all around clip and unit to hold it together. Works, but doesn't look that great. I'd consider buying more pieces IF they were wider and IF something better replaced the now-useless clips (spring-lock clips, maybe?)

Cat scratcher
We got the rectangle shape for our cat for use as a scratching area in hopes we could divert her from using the dining room rug which is her favorite and only thing she scratches in the house. She was immediately attracted to it and was crazy about the catnip supplied. She sits on the piece a lot but so far does not seem interested in scratching it. It is a nice piece and does not stand out and scream cat scratcher. We have hopes that she will eventually start to use it.

It is very costly and have to have another piece to make it stable. When my cat goes on it, it collapse. I do not want to pay another $40 just to make it stable.

Cool, but...
4 stars for the concept: modular cat furniture 3 stars for the execution: the one piece I received through Amazon Vine seems very durable (it's made of what appears to be tightly compacted layers of cardboard) and substantial. But it does have the look of a big blocky piece of cardboard. 2 stars for the price: the Amazon listing says this piece was reduced from an original retail price of just shy of $100 to just shy of $50. At $50 it strikes me as wildly overpriced. I have no idea what it costs to manufacture a Katris Cat Scratcher module, but my consumer's instinct tells me that a wholesale cost of $2 per unit and a retail cost of $15-20 per unit would be reasonable. It is, after all, a big piece of cut and pressed cardboard (or something like that). $50 is way more than I personally would spend for one of these modules (though, I'll say again, the construction is solid and the concept is elegant). And if you're at all interested in building one of the multi-modular pieces of 'furniture' that are depicted on the ad page, you'll have to shell out hundreds of dollars to do so. Too rich for me, especially for an item that one's cats will eventual shred. To summarize: Katris Cat Scratcher modular cat furniture is well designed and manufactured, but either the designers are getting raked over the coals on account of insanely high manufacturing costs (in which case, they should find another manufacturer), or they're trying to rake consumers over the coals by seeking insanely high profits. Either way, the cost to consumers is simply (in my view) way too high.

Great Cat Furniture
I have the L and Z shapes, so far, and my kitten loves them. Its durable and my cat can play, scratch, and lounge on them. I love that I can create my own design based on what I know my cat likes. I will be ordering more shapes soon.

I need more!
Katris is a fantastic addition to any pet home - particularly those of us who are renters and may need to move often. As the blocks can be rearranged, separated, or double as (human) furniture, they extremely versatile. Though Katris came with catnip to "entice" my cats on them, it was not needed. Also, they come packed in a pretty impressive amount of sturdy cardboard - which means I've essentially gotten two (or three) cat toys per piece.

I bought 4 different Katris piece. The pieces are of great quality, strong and stable. Two of my cats are overweight and it holds them just fine. The width is a bit short but that doesn't seem to matter to my 3 cats. They climb, they lounge and play on it. It doesn't tip, fall but does at times slightly move since it's not against a wall, my adult cats play hard. The cats are now using only the Katris for their clawing needs which is wonderful for our couch. I have one cat who likes to chew everything and she is truly enjoying the Katris for her teething needs. Some of the snaps that hold them together are a little too loose so it's not a tight hold but it's still keeping it together even with the hard play. The Katris is extremely easy to care for. A quick vacuuming sucks up all the hair, or even a damp cloth wipes it away in a jiffy. This was a huge selling point for me. I was tired of the endless vacuuming of those carpeted cat trees. The bonus feature is being able to change forms. This keeps my cats entertained as well as myself. It fits in just about any room, corner or split it in two and make smaller cat furniture. It's a super great idea!

I could not be happier with this piece, nor could my kitten. He LIVES in it. I also bought the longer version. They are so well made, sturdy and durable and my kitten took to it immediately. I will continue to buy these. Also, the packing is awesome, very sturdy, and the piece is wrapped in a cardboard within the box so it cannot be dented. Very impressed with the product and quality of delivery.

My kitties love these. They climb on them, sleep on the, sleep next to them, and most importantly scratch them! I've had one for about two years, so it definitely beats the cheapo ones you can buy. Just added another one for more scratching surfaces.
