Does it work good with heavy beard?

I'm blond and my beard isn't every heavy or thick, but I've found the shaves to be outstanding and close with it. Albeit this razor isn't what would be called "mild" for the allowable angles or blade exposure, and it takes a steady hand and good technique to use well. Like with any other old school razor you will nick yourself here and there. You'll have great shaves and not so great. That's you and not the razor.

Is worth the $12 here or $19 at Walmart locally?
