This thing is working great. Easy setup. I used the mounting strap for a permanant mount under the hood of my 2022 Ford E350 RV. I bought this because of the good reviews and that it was said to be a USA made product -- I managed install and hook up in about 30 minutes. I sat down and went through the extra material, real happy with myself over my talented ability to install without instructions (ha, ha). The product is well-made, expensive, sure, but a really nice unit. BUT - It is NOT USA MADE. According to the material that came with this charger, it is made in Vietnam, not in the US, as someone claimed. It is, however, DESIGNED in the USA, but made, or assembled in VIETNAM, or other cheap labor countries, not sure, but mine came from V ... I originally thought I was buying a 100% USA made product, which justified, to my mind, the high price. Will I return it? No, it is doing the job, and is certainly a quality item. I just like to support USA manufacturing and American jobs whenever I can -- something hard to do these days. I buy Ford because it is still a USA owned company, even though half or more, of their cars are filled with components and parts from other countries. It is hard to see any other difference between other manufactures when we see auto plants, like Hyundai, and Toyota, opening assembly plants in the US. The lines get really blurred. Okay, enough -- just be aware -- it is not an American-made product, it is designed in America and assembled somewhere else.

Really impressed with this charger. It’s super easy to use—just hook it up and it pretty much does everything on its own. I like that it works with both 6V and 12V batteries and even different types like AGM and lithium, so it’s pretty versatile. It’s also compact but still powerful, and I’ve used it to bring a weak battery back to life without any issues. The automatic maintenance mode is a nice touch too since you can leave it connected without worrying about overcharging . Overall, solid build, reliable performance, and great for keeping your car or motorcycle battery in good shape.

This smart battery charger worked great. I was suspicious at first. But it completely recharged my car battery. Easy to use.

I’m very happy with the NOCO genius 5 battery charger. It brought my 2-1/2 year-old battery back to a fully charged battery in less than 24 hours, from an approximately 50% (12.3 volt) charged battery and is holding the charge for several months now. I originally bought a combination 4-amp battery charger/maintainer from a great company that has been manufacturing high quality chargers for a very long time but that charger was not able to bring up the charge on my battery any higher than 50% even after two weeks. After I read about battery sulfation, I realized that my battery probably had a sulfation issue since it sits garaged for 2-3 week periods now that I work from home and when I drive it, it’s usually not long enough to recharge it. The charger I had bought did not have de-sulfation capability. I decided to buy the NOCO genius 5 based on lots of great reviews from various sources not just Amazon and also because of all the different functions and versatility it offers. For what you get I think it’s very reasonably priced. It was the same price as my first charger that has far less capabilities. It comes with a detachable cable that has spring-loaded battery terminal clamps. These clamps can be removed leaving only ¼” eyelets that you can then attach directly to the vehicles battery terminal harness mounting clamps for a permanent installation if you prefer. This cable 24” long from end-to-end before connecting it to the shorter cable that is permanently attached to the charger body. I wish NOCO would have provided two separate cables, one with battery clamps and one with the eyelets as many other battery charger manufacturers do. You can buy the eyelet cable separately but I think it’s fairly expensive at $19 at this time. There is also no bag or container for storage, only the cardboard box it comes in. It looks to be put together very well and of good quality. Although since the entire body is plastic, I’m pretty sure if one were to accidentally drop it from an automobile engine height down onto a concrete surface it is likely to crack open. On the bottom of the NOCO charger is says Designed in the USA and Made in Vietnam. The only real complaint I have is the user guide that comes with it. The print is extremely small and very difficult to read. I could see that being a problem for people with poorer eye sight. The user guide does not mention anything about the de-sulfation process that is performed automatically by this microprocessor-controlled charger. De-sulfation is mentioned in the user guide for the 12-volt repair mode but I believe this is different from automatic de-sulfation that occurs during the normal charging mode. Anyway I'm loving this charger and glad I bought it and recommend it to others.

The NOCO GENIUS5 does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It charges my older vehicle’s battery quickly and efficiently. I noticed it works faster and more reliably than the cheaper charger I own. It’s is more compact, well-built, and feels like a quality product that’s designed to last. However, I do wish it came with an instruction guide explaining its functions and indicators. As someone who isn’t particularly knowledgeable about cars, having clear instructions would have made things easier. My cheaper charger actually came with a very helpful guide, so I was a bit surprised that this one didn’t. I ended up having to look online to make sure I was using it correctly and safely. Another thing I notice is that the button is not as intuitive. There's a delay when pressing the button. That said, once I understood how it worked and managed my patience, it performed flawlessly. I just wish the user guidance matched the quality of the device itself.

Brought back 3 batteries that other charges could not ! Not only that but it charged them fast ! For its size , there is no comparison. Easy to use and exactly what you need if you have a lithium battery or just a regular one. Where other "smart" chargers failed this one didn't

This charger/tender worked well to "revive" a ~80Ah lead acid battery that sat in a low state of charge for nearly a year. After an initial 2.5 hour cycle in repair mode, followed by a higher amp charge from an older/larger charger, a noticeable improvement in battery performance was observed. A shorter repair cycle, about 30 minutes total, restored some capacity on another lead acid battery still in use. There are cheaper desulfator-only options, of questionable reliability/longevity, so the additional features offered on this model were cost-effective for my intended usage. While I have not yet used this as a tender/maintainer for any length of time, the cabling to and from the charger are long enough to reach from one side of a car to the other. This unit did not seem to produce much heat in repair mode with ~75F ambient temp. In auto charge mode between 25% and 75%, it was warm to the touch. I'll have to try a longer charge period to see if it heats up further. This product did not come with a manual in the box, just the warranty booklet. Tracking down a user manual on the manufacturer's site did not require much effort. The 6V and repair mode are not activated by quick presses of the single button. Pressing & holding for a few seconds activates these extra modes from standby. Some form of documentation in the box would have been more convenient than going to the website, but I digress.

We're using this in our work pickup to keep batteries topped off and it's working great. Easy to put where we needed it and easy to see what it's doing and what the battery charge is at. Very intuitive to use and love the portability of it. Seems well made and has what feels like a protective outer shell. We expect this to last a long time.

I've had this item for 2 years now. And I have to say it is one of the best purchases I've made. Background: I have a older car, that's kept outside here in toronto, The winter's here can be pretty bad. My car battery is not the greatest, and I found my battery was always draining. Constantly needed a jump. I looked at the big suitcase backpack looking ones, that CAA uses, then I saw this tiny noco. I'm glad I took the risk, it's paid for itself many times. Pros: it works. It's boosted my car, when the battery was completely dead. -The safety feature, meaning the electrics won't flow, if it's on the wrong positive or negative, was nice for those times when I was in a rush not paying attention -my model had a boost mode, so when I would activate it, it would force start my battery. -very quick. I always feel a little less than human, with people judging me when I have to jumpstart my car, I'm sure nobody cares, but I still feel a bit inadequate. This jump starts my car almost immediately. -this thing is tiny, I keep it in my glove box, it does what those huge jumper boxes that the professionals have, but since technology is so fantastic, they're able to make it so small but so powerful -I'm really impressed with the charge, I charged it once and it lasted over a year, with monthly use. I did recharge it just to be safe at the end of the first year. But I probably could have left it and it would have worked fine, there is a battery indicator as well. Cons: When I pull it out to help strangers restart their car, they look at me a little bit crazy thinking this little item can help. Then they ask me, where they can get one minutes later :) Recommendation: If you're someone who needs to jumpstart their car regularly, this thing is a lifesaver. Not only am I able to jumpstart my car when I need it fast and safely, I was able to help other strangers, simply because there wasn't a lot to hook up. It's a small unit and putting it on someone else's car, and jumping it takes a few minutes. I would 100% buy it again.
