NATGAI Sofa Couches Bed DIY Adjustable Spring Mechanism 6.1” Height

Had a DHP/Better Homes and Gardens wooden frame futon and broke a hinge, this bolted right up and works as good as new.

The springs on the old futon (bought back in 1998) broke and the seat wouldn't set up. I thought I would try to replace the hinges before throwing out the futon. They fit perfectly in the current holes and it works like a charm. The only issue is that the new futon mattress is so stiff it is hard to position upright from the bed to a seat. I'm sure once the mattress wears in a bit, it will become easier.

The hinges on my cheap tube steel futon that's kept at a lake cabin basically exploded with the arms bending and rivets pulling out. It's a DHP which is available in multiple styles but all with the same hinge. I was shopping new futons which stunk because I had a nice mattress on this one and was really glad to find that the hinges could be replaced easily instead.

We bought a futon from a thrift store and it came with bent brackets. This bracket was superior and it’s held on so far. Would definitely buy it again!

This item works for a popular style of cheap foldable sofas with wooden sides and a metal bed frame. I changed my old hinges to this one and can prove that these hinges are made better than the stock one, more thick metal, better (tougher) rivets, more accurate manufacturing, etc. Look like they only have two positions - Sit and open bed (no lounge), but I'm pretty sure that I saw the model here that can hold all three positions. Anyway - it works perfectly for my foldable sofa, and it is about ten times cheaper to replace broken hinges than buy a new frame.

This was easy to replace. The metal fatigued hinges on my futon needed replacement. It was a two person job to take apart the futon but the hinges fit perfectly. Hang on to original screws and fixtures if you don’t you’ll need a trip to the hardware store.

It works .. kind of irritating that I had to replace it … the packaging wasn’t very … premium … I wish I could leave A 9/10 review … however … the fact that it works (for right now atleast ^_^) makes me leave A 5/5

The hinges are medium weight - they will torque/flex/bend with the wrong motion or with forceful use. However, I imagine under normal use, they will last. All holes lined up perfectly - fantastic! BUT THERE ARE TWO MAJOR ISSUES. First, these hinges do NOT work with a wooden futon frame. The mounts for the seat and back do NOT offer enough separation between the two platforms. So, when you attempt to raise the seat to 'click' it to a sofa, it IS NOT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE. The seat platform wedges against the back platform at about 20 degrees and cannot move any further. To 'fix' this issue, I took a chance and moved the seat platform AWAY from the back platform by using ONLY ONE HOLE to mount it. Of course, this now provides enough space to physically allow me to 'click' the futon... in theory. Here's the second problem: the hinges simply will NOT allow me to lift the seat platform far enough to create the chair configuration. As I lifted the seat in attempt to 'click' it, at a point, the ENTIRE FRAME started to lift with it. I was essentially picking my futon up off the ground instead of actuating the 'click' mechanism. I had to balance on one leg, take my free foot and place it on the front frame as I struggled to lift the seat platform to finally get a 'click.' Once it clicked, I was able to rotate it to a chair configuration. It was promising and almost worked. But it obviously is NOT functional for wooden frames... if at all.

These mechanisms for the futon bed are amazing. Heavy duty, work great for our sons bed. He is a tall and heavier teenager. Installation was very straight forward, springs all work, and the bed converts so easily. Thank you Prompt service and came earlier than expected.

Maravilloso.encaja perfecto en mi sofá que ya iba a cambiar. Ya tengo sofá para otros 20 años!!!!!!
