1626 Air Case No Foam (Black)

Love it for when we travel, solid build, protects our electronics really well. really good size for traveling. I got the one without padding but I had alot of padding that I repurposed.

I used to do field work, had to carry all my tool, and fly out every week. I have used other brands but the Air Case was the last one. It's perfect. Light enough you can cram it full, and strong enough that TSA can't break the locking clips (Looking at you TSA DET) I was standing in the luggage line after coming home and I heard someone say "Oh man, an Air Case, you know it's seen some action"

Good Quality Stuff and I like it.

This case is great for air travel and scuba gear transport. With my back plate (stainless) and wing plus 3mm wetsuit, fins, lights, mask and other spares (less octo which goes in my carry on), I was around 45lbs. Perfect to stay under the 50lb maximum. I would recommend you get a pair of locking latches and replace those. I used the two metal reinforced padlock rings and the luggage handlers obviously used my padlocks as lift abd swing points. It did stretch out the plastic hole a bit. I would guess a few more trips and they would break. Save your luggage and use the easily replaced locking latches. Case held up great out on the boat. Gear and clothes inside stayed dry. Even with a ton of spray from the 30 minutes choppy boat ride out and back. The handle and wheels make getting around easy. I cannot recommend this case enough.

Well built and pretty light for their size. I travel a lot with these cases and they have held up to a lot of abuse.

I am very pleased with this case. Of course, it lives up to the legendary Pelican durability and strength. I purchased this case to use as luggage, as it is about the largest case that you can check without added fees... and I found it to be cheaper than most store bought suitcases. Plus, I wanted that additional strength and security for traveling with a firearm. My firearm was locked in it’s own Pelican 1200 case which was locked inside of this 1626. Overkill, I know, but ‘better safe than sorry’. And it worked out because neither the airline, nor TSA, gave me any issue. The 1626 does exactly what I need it to do. Also, rub a light coat of Armor All on the case after the baggage handlers throw it around at the airport... it cleans and brings the deep black color back.

This case is 15 lbs lighter than the standard Pelican Protector case and gets me just under the 50 lb baggage limit with the airlines. I can fit all my dive gear in it and still won't break 50 lbs. It has a high price tag, but you'll save that $$$ at the airport!

Not at all what I expect from Pelican. On first trip with the case, removed padlocks and metal clips that protect hasp holes on one side fell off. Got home from the second trip a few weeks later and the other side fell off. Now, I’ve managed to keep track of them and have never taken a trip or used locks without the metal clips on it but that’s not how it’s supposed to work when you spend this much. They’re supposed to stay on and protect the case without requiring an inventory program. Total crap. Pelican’s quality appears to be slipping.

La marca cómo todos los sabemos, es de excelente calidad, lo recomiendo. (No trae espuma como dice en la publicación, yo no la ocupaba por ello no tengo problema)

My goodness! What an awesome case. Absolutely perfect for my requirements (transporting my show internationally), professional looking, spacious and very tough. I am so glad I took the plunge and purchased this. 5 stars out of 5 for the Pelican Air 1626.

Pues la calidad esta muy alta se ve super resistente es mas ligera de lo que dice es 6.8kg el AIR1626 pero si es mas pequena que una maleta documentada como 12cm mas angosta de una maleta permitida de documentar entonces pues no se. Esperaba que sea mas grande porque sumando las medidas pues si dan pero llegando la maleta la pongo lado de mi maleta IT que no me gusta pero si es mas grande quel Pelican. Aparte de esto todo bien la recomiendo. UPDATE: Despues de viajar unas semanas con ella pues todo bien, es resistente, el plastico las esquinas se rayan algo con el maltratamiento en los aeropuertos, las ruedas estan aptas solo para superficies lisos como losetas asfalto etc. Todas las personas la vean graba mucho la attencion, que no se puede ser bueno puede ser malo esto. Alguna gente tienen problema con ella y piensan que transporto algo muy especial entonces en varios lugares en Europa la tenia que documentar como bagaje "sobre dimensiones" que no es claramente y pues solo la uso como maleta normal, no transporto equipos tecnicos ni nada. Pero ya me acostumbre y pues lo importante es que protege bien mis cosas. Regresando a Mexico claro que en la lluvia las maletas de los demas pues llegaron empapadas en la banda pero mia pues no me importa si se moja.
