Fir everyone that has had issues with the open coils hanging up on weeds? Limbs or anything else that seems that they catch up on.. this is a great coil just due to the fact that is is closed. But, that is not the only reason to get this coil. It preforms wonderful. Even tho every coil for the CTX 3030 is VERY expensive this is a great addition to the arsenal. Has great target separation and can pick its way through tough iron areas. Ex: last weekend took it out to a hevily hunted area and pulled out a sterling silver spoon out of an iron patch. Along with bullets and other small targets. Have only had it a couple of weeks now but worth the money spent. Just wish I had more time to use it. In the pictures with this review are some of the first finds of this coil...my first ever Civil War era bullets. Silver spoon after I cleaned and polished off 100+ years of tarnish and a 1900 Indian head cent.

10x5 coiltek for ctx 3030
The first coil had an issue in that it kept generating a "coil not detected" error. I was able to handle the issue (usually a short in the coil or the lead wire) through the Amazon return process. Amazon issued a RMA label without question and initiated a replacement order for a new coil right away. The new coil arrived and has performed perfectly finding a thin 1899 barber dime in a park that has been hunted extensively

Nice coil but I'm not sure if it gives much of an edge over any of the other coils I use. I will continue to use it and learn more about it's performance capabilities.

Good for trash and water.
I bought this for mainly when I hunt rivers since the 11 inch coil is more difficult to pinpoint under water.This coil works very well for water detecting and pinpoints better for water conditions so you don't have to scoop numerous times to remove target.It is also very good for trashy sites on the land and makes it easier to find good items next to junk ones that the bigger Coils would skip overOr combine the items into one signal.Quality is great Coiltec makes fantastic products wish they would develop some smaller coils for my xp deus 2.I highly recommend this coil you will not be disappointed. I do have the mine lab 6 inch coil and you can cover more ground with this one and still find those sneaky coins hiding near trash.
