I like that the screws are small enough that there is no worries that they will stick out through to the other side. I also like the spring mechanism and the solid feel when locking. I don't really understand the negative reviews especially about the "tiny screws" which to me are more of a convenience even if it does require more care in assembly. Excellent product.

Bought in Sept 2025 for $13.88 pretax. These are well made latches. Most of the similar small latches seem to be made of thin stamped sheet metal. These are solid cast or machined pieces. The hook part is not free-spinning, it has a spring inside that holds it in place. So when you lock it, it won't undo by itself just by moving the box around. And just so, when you unlock it, it stays that way also and won't re-lock by gravity, movement or whatever. The screws are quite small, so be cautious not to tap to wide or deep. --- They did a pretty poor job of showing the dimensions so I will do that for them. Other than that, these are perfect for small boxes and projects.

These are surprisingly study for what they cost. I will definitely buy again when I run out. They swivel well and lock into place with spring loaded tension at the 90degree marks which make them extraordinarily useful! 5 stays across the board because it does everything very well. As for the sheerness that amazon wants me to rate it on... I found this word a bit vague so I looked it up. "Sheerness is a town and civil parish beside the mouth of the River Medway on the north-west corner of the Isle of Sheppey in north Kent, England. With a population of 12,000, it is the largest town on the island." These products were made in China, not Sheerness, but I'm am still inclined to give it a 5 star rating because of the quality of function.
