not a night light.
ad states lights up automatically at night and higher brightness when PIR detects human motion.Purchased this product with the intention of covering the PIR and using it only as a soft nightlight. Does not work, only works from PIR. Fortunately found a use for it elsewhere or I would have sent it back.
