Heavy duty well made light
The quality of this light is top notch. It is all made of heavy duty metal with the exception of the motion sensor head. It should last a long time.

So Far So Good!
The only suggestion is have someone who is liscened to install. It is direct wiring. I am so far very happy with the purchase. I will update if there is a issue.

working well so far
I bought this to replace an existing security light that stopped working. I reused the existing junction box. If you do this, be aware that the mounting base of this light is a bit bigger than the typical "big box" store lights. My previous lights all had circular mounting bases and this one has a hexagonal-shaped one. To reuse your existing junction box, make sure you have at least 2" of clearance, measuring from the center of the junction box (where the mounting screw would attach) to the bottom of the eave or nearest surface above the light. Mine *just* made it. :-D If you don't have this much room, you might have to move the junction box or else remove some material from the eave to accomodate the base.Outside of that, it is no more difficult to mount than any other light I've had, and I've had a few. The "big box" store lights keep failing after a couple of years, I'm hoping this one will last longer. There is a mounting feature I really liked - the mounting bar for this device has a green ground screw right on the bar itself, so I didn't have to reach into the junction box with my somewhat large, thick fingers to attach the ground wire inside. :-D Very helpful. The sensor works well, gives 180 degree coverage. I have it mounted on the back wall of the house and when I approach the light perpendicularly from either side, as soon as I can see the device with my eyes, it "sees" me and turns on the light. This is at the max sensitivity setting and it is adjustable. There are numerous small animals around at night but so far it doesn't seem to pick up many of them. My last light was on frequently due to possums, raccoons, etc, but this one only seems to pick up bigger things. This light has an adjustable full-range day/night setting. When set for night, it only turns the light on in full darkness. But you can set it to day and it will turn on the light in broad daylight if the sensor picks up movement, which is very useful for making adjustments as well as turning the light on all day if you so choose. The setting is adjustable to points in between, so I have mine set to start turning on the light at dusk.So I'm happy with it so far. Hopefully it will last more than a couple of years, which would make it well worth the extra cost over the lights I've had in the past.

Solid Product
This is my second RAB STL360 and I'm very satisfied. No false trips due to wind, very reliable. I like 360 motion detect is great and catches me as soon as I walk out the door just below this light. The detection range is 50 to 60 feel out. Both are mounted about 16 feet high. I'm using a 19 watt LED PAR38 floodlights. They're 150W incandescent equivalent lumens wise. The LED inrush current will be higher than an incandescent and may shorten the life of the relay in the PIR module, but I don't care. With a company like RAB and a relay contact switching capacity of 8 Amps I'll take my chance. I've had cheaper floodlights with much lower current ratings and ran LED floodlights in them for a long time without a problems. Go for it, this is a great unit.

Good unit but expensive.
The RABST360HW is a heavy, large well build, excellent and robust motion sensor device. Several months ago I purchased the two-pack system for $155 and have had excellent results. Consequently, I considered a third unit, which was previously advertised at $78. However, I now discover the same unit is advertised at $92. I reluctantly assumed this later unit included lamps, since the first purchase did not. That was wrong, the single purchased unit did not include lamps. As a result, I consider $92 for this device is way over priced, albeit well designed and hardy. And, of course I still had to buy two lamps for this unit.It is my understand RAB does not recommend LED (Light Emitting Diode) lamps for this unit. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to buy incandescent lamps of the required size for these lights. As an experienced Electrical Engineer of more than 40 years, it is not logical that LEDs would cause any harm to the electronics in these units. Of course, I have not preformed my own independent tests for prof of this claim. Nevertheless, since the dual lamps are tied in parallel, I placed an LED lamp in one socket and an incandescent lamp in the other. That will lower the load impedance and should minimize any stray noise from the LED. This is probably not necessary. I cannot believe LEDs will cause harm. By the way, there is a third, red wire available that could be used to power an additional lamp or an alarm.I discovered the lamp sockets have a rubber-sealing boot around them. As a result, you may find it difficult to screw in the lamps. I resolved this problem by lubricating the boot and base of the lamps with an electrical silicone grease. This makes it very easy to screw in the lamps. And, the silicone grease probably preserves the rubber boot.If you are not familiar with the electrical codes in you area and are not knowledgeable with this type of instillation, I recommend you hire a professional electrician to do the installation for you.Again, this is an excellent lamp, but $92 is too much - hence the 3 stars.

Is not compatible with LED light bulbs.
It is not compatible with LED light bulbs, you can use a longer leangth of rebar tie wire to help insrtall it instead of the short wire hook that comes with it, then after the center bolt is threaded in by several turns just cut off the extra wire that is in the middle and leaving the upper wire still attached and cutting the bottom wire off, or just let it hang by the ground wires after making sure that the light fixture will not fall down by making sure the wires are tightly screwed to a good quality wire nut that has little handles on the sides of it.
