The ancient Egyptians thought big and built bigger, leaving behind monuments and messages that have endured for five millennia despite tomb robbers and the ravages of time. Pyramids and mummies tell us about their deaths, but new technologies are peeling the wraps off their mysterious lives. In Everything Ancient Egypt kids will discover all they want to know about the mysteries of ancient Egypt and learn new weird, wacky, and fascinating facts as well. Sections in the book include Rise of the Pharaohs, Death and the Afterlife, Life in Ancient Egypt, and Fun With Ancient Egypt (a section that provides readers with exciting hands-on learning!). Stunning photos and an interactive glossary round out this exciting and engaging new series addition. Review: Love The Facts, Photos, and Fun! - I love the facts, photos, and fun that this item provided for me to discuss with my grandkids. I traveled to Cairo, Egypt a few weeks ago and wish that I had purchased this prior to my trip. However, it is still timely and perfectly compliments the photos that I took while there. It is very educational for my grandkids and other kids that I discuss Ancient Egypt with. I highly recommend this book/magazine. Review: LOVE IT! - I bought this for my classroom (6th grade ancient history), but I literally had to smuggle it out of my house under the dark of night (ok, 6am darkness) so my own kids (aged 4 and 6) wouldn't know it was gone. They LOVE this book. We used to spend nights reading Fancy Nancy and Skippyjon Jones, but now they repeatedly request the "Egypt book" - and so we look at the amazing color photos, the incredible artist renderings, and the interesting collage-style facts that this book is filled with. Even the gruesome photos of the mummies (and there are several!) aren't too disgusting for my kids, and they are nicely arranged by brightly colored images of death masks and what the Pharaohs may have dressed like in life so they aren't too overpowering. There are so many interesting facts in this book that even I learned a lot - and I teach an entire unit on Ancient Egyptian history! Yes, this is a fabulous book, and I can't wait to get the Castle book in the same series. Will this book work as a single source for an Egyptian history project - no, probably not, but it's format makes it kid friendly and easy to read a few pages, glean some cool information, and hit the sack without feeling like you've filled your head with too much fluff. (The one downside was that it started falling apart WAY too quickly - the binding just wasn't put together very well - but I imagine this is probably a solitary issue and not something that happens across the board with all of these books. It would have been nicer in hardcover, but I'm a hardcover book snob!)

Great book
2nd grader loves it! Lots of good info. Font is pretty small, so hard to read in low light, but it's geared for a bit older kids anyway.

... learning about ancient thing so I knew she would love this book
My daughter loves Egypt & learning about ancient thing so I knew she would love this book! We got it for her for Christmas & of course she loves it! It's very educational & teaches a lot! Today she brought it to school for sharing to show others about the Nile River. It's a great book at a great price! I was a bit disappointed however in that the binding of the book broke off & I had to glue it back on but for the book & her joy, it was worth it!

Great book, great pics
My 3 1/2 year old is Egyptology obsessed and this book only made it better. He loves it. We read it about 278 times a day. He loves mummies and can now tell you how mummies are made, about hieroglyphics and how they stored mummies organs and valuables. The first book did fall apart, the glue binding it together gave way separating the cover from the insides but Amazon quickly sent a new one for n two days and I returned the damaged item. Great, and educational
This is a great book. I bought it as a gift so have only flicked through it, but it's very well laid out with pictures, facts, etc. My daughter wanted to keep it and not give it to her friend! Has a nice, well made feel to it too.

Great informative book
My 7 year old son needed a booked regarding Ancient Egypt. After searching many types I found this to be the most informative. He currently subscribes to the NG Kids monthly magazine, so hoped the book would be just as informative & relevant for a 7 year old to understand. He was happy with the book, it presented the information in an interesting format. Would definitely recommend.
