The length is 25". I am very happy with this unit. I am not a professional artist so I keep it at home. Good rollers. I have at least 30 stretched canvases (four 16 x20 plus quite a few 12x16 and smaller) standing on ends plus a number of 12 x 16 water colors. Very sturdy and easy to maneuver. The only thing I would recommend is to use your own set of Allen wrenches. The holes for the screws are slightly smaller that the screws themselves, which is necessary for the screws to get a good bite into the wood, but it also makes it challenging to get enough leverage with the tiny Allen wrench they provided. It would be doable, but it would also be way less fun to put together. Not really an issue for us since we do have a set of Allen wrenches with a good handle. Just wanted to make people aware.
