Beautiful paper for colored pencil, graphite and charcoal. Very slight tooth to make more layers than the "smooth" paper. My favorite for colored pencil.

Best paper I've used for colored pencil drawings

Don't expect easy erasing on this paper, like you get to rethink all your bad decisions in life - it's delicate. I think it's a lot like Lenox 100 just easier to get your hands on. It takes a mark very beautifully and very reliably. I do like it a lot for pastel pencil, charcoal, graphite, and colored pencil built with a light touch. If you want to burnish, erase, and even get in a light wash, go for stonehenge printmaking. If you want a looser more open more accepting tooth, this is a classic for a reason. 15 sheets, all cotton, big pad. Binding isn't great. Strathmore tapebounds are never super well made, it's just a temporary holding situation and tends to fall apart, but construction is not what you're paying for here - rather some nicely sized sheets of an archival heavyweight drawing paper you'll love to use with pencil.

Takes pencil really well without the smudging I normally see from other paper. Quality is superb. Blends well and absorbs darker lead very well.

I do drawings in colored pencil and want the highest quality paper. Strathmore's 500 series is the best. I have purchased this vellum bristol pad a few times; however, lately, I find the pads arrive slightly damaged. The corners are crushed, and the pad is slightly bent, warped, as if it's been stored too tightly perhaps in a damp area. I won't return this as I can trim the edges and flatten the paper with a heavy weight, but I think it's best to bite the bullet (shipping costs) and order from a reputable art supply outfit online.

De tekenblok was beschadigd waardoor in een deel van de pagina's een kleine scheur zit wat wel heel jammer is voor zo duur papier. Ik zal er een stuk af moeten snijden om het te gebruiken....

I'm in love with this paper, I use it all the time for my professional pet portrait commissions as well as practice. It is smooth and thick, so it can hold a lot of coloured pencil layers. Highly recommend. It's pricey but worth it if a customer is paying a lot for a commission. You want to make sure you are giving them good quality.
