Great Electric Percolator!
I’ve been using drip type coffee makers for years and have even tried a couple of K cup coffee makers. But, with all the news around plastics in our food and drinking water, I wanted to make the change to stainless steel. I have a stove top percolator that I love, but it takes me close to 30 minutes to prep, brew and clean up. I was looking for something that would give me the flavor of percolated coffee, but not require all of the monitoring of the brewing process for a stove top percolator. After researching all of the electric percolators on the market, I decided to go with the Farberware 8 cup for my morning brew. After two brews, I think I made the right choice. The Farberware 8 cup percolator is simple to use and brewed the perfect cup of coffee for me. The design is straightforward and setup is easy. Just add the desired amount of coffee into the basket, fill the percolator with water, place the basket and tube into the percolator, place the lid on top and plug it in. In under 10 minutes, I had a perfect cup of coffee. I know that some reviews complained that it produced a weak cup of coffee. Not so in my case. The coffee was strong and flavorful. Adding more or less coffee grounds to the basket is what adjusts the strength. Some reviews complained that the cord is short. With the electric outlet at the back of the counter, I am able to place the percolator all the way to the edge of the countertop without any concern about the length of the cord. Some complaints were about not seeing the progress of the brewing process as it doesn’t have a glass top. As this machine is all automatic and brews quickly, there really is no need for the sight glass. Just listen to the sound and you will know when the brewing process has completed. I’ve left the percolator plugged in for up to two hours and the coffee stayed nice and hot. If you’re in the market for a simple and affordable electric percolator, this machine will be a great choice for you!

Great coffee maker
Great coffee maker. Coffee taste great and only takes seven minutes to perk. Got tired of my drip coffee makers that are made with plastic parts that heat up the water. This coffee pot is stainless steel parts and I’m assuming the base of it is also stainless steel but no plastic at all. Only downside is the lid is hard to get off and I’m afraid the nob on top will break. Well-made, coffee, pot, and easy to clean. Nice looking design.

Great coffee every time
Almost 2 years with this coffee maker and it’s been the best one I’ve ever owned. Makes coffee quickly and it’s piping hot. The strainer basket lets a lot of coffee grounds fall through, but I bought a reusable filter screen that goes inside the basket and it works perfectly. I got the 8 cup size. It’s perfect for me as I’m the only coffee drinker in the house.

SEE UPDATES!! Terrible CS and product
IMPORTANT…. Update: see below, dated 4/24 & 5/24. I really wanted to like this being a percolator user for decades. I order a used 'like new' one, but it arrived more broken than 'like new' so I returned to get another new one. It does the job and makes a nice, hot, flavorful cup of coffee. It is easy to clean, although you end up cleaning it earlier than you think (see below). My problems with may just be my personal issues, idk. 1. There is no light. I knew this. But it sure would be nice to have especially when brewing process stops and then later when you glance from across the room and ask yourself, 'Did I unplug that thing?' 2. Getting the top off is not easy and hence I am afraid, in the not too distant future, the black knob will snap off. That's how hard it is to remove. There is no screw, it is welded on, so if it breaks, there is not solution other than to somehow buy another whole top, or pry it open with a tool. Neither solution is great. 3. Because the inner part of the spout is so close to the top , you really do have to remove all baskets before you start pouring. Otherwise you will be refiltering/brewing some of your coffee. The baskets are hot, drippy and before having a first cup of coffee I find myself swearing a lot early in the morning. Plus, being slightly OCD, I then find myself cleaning the whole drip system before I even pour myself a cup of coffee. Maddening! These issues could just be me being a cantankerous old man who wants an easy cup of morning jo. It does make a nice hot cup of your favorite flavorful coffee. I will use this until it breaks, but still looking for my go to percolator. UPDATE 4/24 6 months in pot was working ok until we went to plug it in and the wire attached to pot sparked. Luckily my wife was not holding the pot anywhere near that area. Smell of burning rubber, a dark burn mark on my counter and a very frightened wife. The cord had just snapped in one section exposing a bare wire. (See pic) We have a coffee bar and are careful with our coffee pots. This was not user neglect or us ‘slicing’ the cord by mistake. We don’t prepare food by coffee bar. Wrote to Faber customer service but have yet to hear from them adding to disappointment. This is very dangerous . Someone could have been shocked, the counter could have had permanent damage or if left on counter in ‘keep warm’ mode, who knows what could have happened! Very scary. And no response from CS is a big red flag! Avoid!!! Final Update 5/24: After not hearing from Farberware CS i purchases a compatible cord. It was a better cord since the wires were one piece and was actually molded into the plug. All worked well for about 3 weeks until the percolator stopped working altogether. There was a burning smell and then it stopped functioning. Between the original cord being downright dangerous, customer service being terrible, and now the product not working at all after a mere 8 months. I double down on my DO NOT BUY! AVOID AT YOUR OWN PERIL!

Second Time Is A Charm!
Update 4.13.23 I returned a very good I got in poor condition from Amazon Warehouse, first time this has happened, so I decided to give it another go. I ordered this one like new, I have not used it yet, but as I previously stated I own one that is easily two decades old and like it so much I want another for work/secondary residence (gf's house). This time Amazon delivered a like new item - as advertised. Again the only improvement to this work horse and major player in the coffee game would for it to completely shut off about an hour after it is initially plugged in to prevent scorching the stem and the bottom of the pot should all the coffee evaporate. The coffee maker goes into a stay warm mode once the coffee is made. On my older model I have literally written "unplug me" with a picture of an electrical plug on the top in permanent marker to remind my self to unplug it once the coffee is made. I've forgotten to unplug it twice, first time I majorly scorched the bottom in the hole where the stem sits and the stem. I had to use steel wool & scouring powder to get the char off, second time (a few days ago) it was minor and used a blue scrubbing pad. Some char remains but it does not affect the taste of the coffee. Four stars, great product highly recommend especially if you can get it in good condition at a discounted price. Initial Review: I inherited a coffee pot like this from my Father he used to drink a lot of coffee and it was definitely used. First off, let me say this is a GREAT coffee maker. I got tired of buying k-cups and brought the heavy artillery back out. I thought this coffee pot is so good I'll buy another one and take it to work or my girlfriend's house. Ordered this (first) one USED VERY GOOD. I have not bought anything directly from Amazon Warehouse that was listed in very good/like new condition that was not in excellent shape, very little to no visible signs of use. Until now, the box was new and it has been refurbished with a three prong female in the pot itself and a new detachable cord, unlike mine (2 prong) which is 20 to 30 years old or more. When I took it out of the box I was immediately disappointed on inspection this coffee pot probably works but is in FAIR condition at best, heavily used with a major crack in the base and a rusty screw on the bottom. The lettering on the sticker is worn (mine isn't). I tried to reason it out but then I saw the screw on the bottom was rusted. Yard sale/thrift shop condition with a refurbished cord. Almost immediately I put it back in the box to return it. The condition was unacceptable for VERY GOOD. However, I thought enough of this product overall to buy a second one (that I don't really need) at a discounted price. I wish it had an auto shut off after an hour. I try to unplug it as soon as the coffee is made as the warmer will stay on and scorch the pot if you forget to unplug it, I've done this once and had to scrub the pot out and the tube with steel wool to get rid of the char which will ruin the taste of your coffee.

Percolated Perfection at the Campsite — This Thing Delivers
I picked up this Farberware 8-Cup Electric Percolator back in April 2025, and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of camp gear. I use it exclusively during camping trips, and I can honestly say it punches well above its weight class out in the field. The first thing that impressed me was the brew speed. You are not waiting around in the cold morning air for long before you have a full pot ready to go. And the coffee it produces is genuinely bold and flavorful — the kind of cup that actually wakes you up. I was a little skeptical that a percolator at this price point would deliver on taste, but it absolutely does. The keep-warm feature is a real bonus too, especially on a relaxed morning when you want to sip your second cup at your own pace without it going cold. Cleanup is a bit cumbersome compared to a drip machine at home, but honestly, that is just the nature of a percolator and something you would expect in a camp setting. It is not a dealbreaker in any way — just budget a few extra minutes for it. The product matched the Amazon description completely, and I had no surprises out of the box. Pros: -Fast brew time — great for impatient campers -Excellent, bold coffee flavor -Keep-warm function works well and holds temperature reliably -Sturdy stainless steel construction that travels well -Delivers exactly what the product listing promises Cons: -Cleanup requires a little more effort than a standard drip machine -Requires a power source, so not ideal for truly off-grid situations If you are a camper who refuses to sacrifice coffee quality in the outdoors, this percolator is a no-brainer. Highly recommend.

Excellent coffee percolator!
Purchased for a friend who’s 20+ years old one finally gave up the ghost. He was so very pleased to replace it with the updated new version and said that same as his old one, this new pot makes a fast, excellent cup of coffee!

Disappointing
I had been using my parents Farberware percolator for a total of 40 years. It already had a full life of percolating the most aromatic coffee every day for 20 years or so. I actually forgot about my parents percolator until I moved and put it in a “special” place as to just admire it. I had been using all of the hype coffee makers, All of the quick drip ones and last but not least I started using my parents back up coffee maker, the one you make on the stove top. It is remarkable how much better and the amount of flavor that you get from even the cheapest brand of coffee, using this amazing little aluminum pot. The only problem with using this the past few years is that I have so many things to do in the morning and at least three times a week it boils over. So I had them in my mind to get out my parents at least 50 year old Farberware percolator, and try using it again. Unfortunately, the tubing part that hates the water and pushes it up to the top was made out of some type of very hard plastic. And it cracked. So having known of this trusted brand for decades, I bought the 8 cup Farberware percolator to just make it a little easier on myself in the morning my admiration of this name brand quickly fainted when making my first pot. It just doesn’t cook long enough. I’m using almost twice as much ground coffee in this 8 cup new coffee pot then I used on my stove top coffee pot. Obviously the company has probably at some time been sold over and over again and family values have completely been abolished. It’s all about the money and how cheap they can make a product. Other than that, the coffee pot Works if you’re someone who really enjoys flavor of real coffee, no artificial additives for flavor just plain store brand ground coffee, that is best made on a stove top, this new Farberware percolator is not the one for any coffee connoisseur. I’m certainly no snob and basically old school, but someone really missed the boat on the time that this coffee percolate. Unfortunately, I missed the return window because I didn’t use it right away. I’m on a new search for a percolator that actually makes coffee taste like real coffee. Not a weak version of what it should taste like.
