[Updated] Fit seems a bit small...?
Update 2: It's been a year since I got these. I'm upgrading my rating to 5 stars. These shoes are comfy and compliant. The snugness I wasn't keen on at first doesn't seem to be present anymore. Either that, or this is how an athletic shoe is _supposed_ to feel. These are my go-to shoes for working out, now, with the exception of wearing my lifters when back/front squats are on tap for the day.I'm quite pleased with my choice. :)Update 1: I hadn't previously had a chance to spend any time in them. You know how Amazon is always pushing for a review when you barely have any familiarity? Yeah, that. As of today I've got a couple workouts behind me while wearing these WHITINs.Previously, my first timed 400m run was 1:52, which was a notable drop in my performance (increase in time from my more usual 1:30-1:40). I couldn't tell whether I was having a bad day, or whether the shoe was in any way to blame.Today was better. Despite not feeling my best and not really trying to go hard, I managed 400m in 1:42. Yeah alright, I'll take that. And these might be decent for running, but I'm not quite convinced that they're a solid choice for lifting. I've done front squats, clean and jerks, and close scrutiny makes it pretty clear they don't have strong support for lateral stabilization. Doing deadlifts, they're decent enough, pretty close to going barefoot. So it's all about choosing your compromise. Do you want agile running, or do you want solid back/front squats? Do you want to be able to deadlift and transition into a 400m run, or are you looking to drop into a solid catch at the bottom of a snatch? What is your ankle ROM like? Do you need to knock out box jumps?I will add that the overall fit seems better, more natural now. My initial hesitation may have been due to the fact that I'm literally wearing holes through the toebox of my old shoes. Yeah, that will make for a bit of roominess.I may still shop for another pair of shoes, something which is more expressly designed for cross-training. I won't give up these WHITINs, because the design and fit for the money paid seems like a win to me.---[original review below]I ordered a size 9.5 based on prior personal experience, despite Amazon urging me towards a size 9 (based on a prior purchase, apparently -- but so far in the past that I don't remember what it was, or when). The initial impression was that it was a bit... short on my left foot. Maybe that's just the result of the toe box? I dunno. With the right foot, if I lift my toes up (a casual 'stretch'), my big toe pops behind the firm structure (sole wrap-around) into the fabric. So that tells me that that shoe might be a bit on the big side?To be clear, I have always needed narrower shoes, and have had to deal with flat feet my entire life. So when I finally laced them up, they seemed more comfy, ie, my left toes didn't seem to be quite so cramped, and my right toes felt fine. Still, something doesn't feel quite right. This is my first draft; I haven't had a chance to wear them for a workout. Once I manage to get that behind me, I'll update this if my opinion has changed for the better or the worse. I did wear them out for a casual visit to a store, and they seemed fairly okay there. If it sounds like I'm being wishy-washy, it's because I haven't had that BAM THESE ARE AWESOME feeling yet. On the plus side, I don't feel them digging into any tender spots (heel, ankle) so I've got that going for me, which is good.

Great spa therapist shoes. Light comfy yet sturdy bottom. Love them. Would buy again
I live and work in ways that I am in flip flops /sandals often and only wear shoes when I’m dressed up to go out in a pair of traditional black leather hard soup street cars. So I don’t like wearing shoes unless it’s runners /tenny’s the gym. When I do buy regular shoes I tend to wear Sketchers or Vans or boat shoes which are all light and soft.I bought these because I needed something light and quiet to wear around spa and massage office that slip on and off easily and dark non noticeable etc.. these are comfy and not like wearing shoes at all yet you have a firm quality foot base that is solid yet flexible and cups the foot.I have healthy yoga balanced feet and these feel amazing to ground you into planting your feet as you walk. They slip on with ease. Size matches my standard foot size. I like the black on tan ‘gum’ sole look. Seems durable and will last

Review after 1 month of daily usage
I have had no problems wearing these. They slip on, fit well with my flat feet, and have held their grip. The shoes are good looking for their price. You can see the glue that holds the rubber to the cloth, which is understandable for the price tag. This is a definite buy for everyone.

Seems well made
Comfortable shoe. I wasn't sure if I needed a size 12 or 13 since I wear both sizes depending. Usually boots are a 12 and regular shoes a 13. The 12 was a bit tight so going to try a 12.5.Very comfortable and surprisingly cushioned while still being light and allowing a lot of movement. Impressed with the quality and affordability. Especially since I was preparing to drop a lot money more on a Merrell...

Most wonderful shoes I've owned since boyhood moccassins
This is my first foray into the world of minimalist shoes as an adult, but these shoes remind me of the complete joy I used to feel at age 10 on Saturday mornings walking alongside my dad, fishing pole in hand, loping along silently down a lakeside trail in 100% leather moccassins.I'm no longer that boy. I'm 52, with flat feet and 40 pounds too heavy. I've had two knee surguries, the last of which ended with my doctor saying "It's not if you need a knee replacement, but when. Tell me when you're ready." The inside surface of my right kneecap -- the part that rubs against the rest of the joint -- was scoped to reveal that it looks like its cartilage, which is supposed to be smooth, looks like it has been through a cheese grater. I wore hard "cookie" orthotics in my shoes as a kid, have bought hefty arch supporting insoles for all my shoes all my life, and work 12 hour days outside on Saturdays in boots that have $400 Good Feet Store hard orthotics in them.I say all this not to exhaust the reader or make this product review about me, but instead to say that although I was a cross country runner in my early teens, I am clearly no athlete anymore. If minimalist shoes should hurt anyone, they should hurt me.And some did. I also ordered a couple other brands when I ordered these. They were not comfortable. These are. They fit my feet nicely, and that's saying something for me. I have narrow feet, but have always worn B to D widths because my feet get extremely hot, so I like the extra air space. The sole padding on these shoes is just enough. The tread is good, even in mud. The flexibility is outstanding. And even though the arch supports are nowhere near as high as the orthotics I am accustomed to wearing, I find that they work fine. I walk three miles a day in these. I hope to lose some weight so I can try jogging in them -- something I haven't done in 20 years.Another thing I like about these shoes is the attention to detail in making the heel and tongue substantial, unlike other brands I ordered and returned at the same time I was testing these. The heel rises high enough and is cupped enough to prevent my heel from rubbing. This is actually amazing to me, and unprecedented as far as I can remember. My narrow feet and low arches have always caused my shoes to have no purchase on anything to hold them back from rubbing on the heel. As a result, the inside of the heel of every pair of shoes I've ever owned has had its inner padding rubbed off within months. That's not going to happen with these.Another point of quality in these shoes is the tongue. Other brands I ordered seemed to sacrifice so much to reduce shoe weight that they relegated the tongue to a limp flap of material that would wrinkle every time I laced up the shoe, which translates to rubbing on the instep and also allowing the laces to blow through and rub directly on my sock. Not so with the tongue on these shoes. They have just enough height and padding to prevent wrinkling and rubbing.I'm surprised to find that after an initial few days when I had to adjust my three-mile walks to the new gait that minimalist shoes promote, my body acclimated nicely. I found myself with muscles growing in my calves, arches, and ankles, and my normal aches from a bad knee and arthritic big toe disappeared. An unexpected bonus is that these shoes also make great slippers for padding around the house, which I usually do in bare feet in summer but doesn't work in winter. I normally hate slippers of any kind even in winter because again, my feet get very hot very easily, and I am prone to get sores between my toes when my feet get too hot for too long. Heat isn't much of a problem in these shoes, though, even in summer, so I'm looking forward to December.I am astounded, actually, that I could get a pair of shoes this comfortable for the price. Twice before in my life I've bought a second identical pair of shoes when I found a pair that I really, really liked. That's how hard I am to fit. I shop for shoes for weeks, sometimes months, before buying. But I think I'm going to buy a second or maybe even a third pair of these. Your mileage may vary, but for me, they are perfect.
