I don't typically write long reviews, but the customer service provided by this company and the in-car / out-of-car benefits this car mount provides move me to go beyond my typical Amazon ratings with the usual one or two sentence review.About the time I got this car mount I'd decided that it was time for my wife and I to stop laying down hundreds of dollars in smartphones next to the coffee while driving day after day. Not a good idea. Also the fact that holding a phone while driving is now illegal sort of helped push the buying decision along as well. So when I caught it one sale for about $10, I said, "Sure, why not." Right? It had plenty of 5 and 4 star rating and being the only one in the Top 10 or even Top 20 for under $10, I figured what the hek. I never expected though that it would be such a great purchase in various ways. My wife and I are both definitely pleased.Not only has it been reliable on the glass but I find that I now use my smartphone GPS more (something I rarely use to do) and when I play music on the phone the screen is now just an eye twitch away from the direction I'm already looking on the road. That's definitely not the way it use to be... Before it was a matter of blindly groping around the center console as I tried to keep my eyes on the road, then trying to put my smartphone in front of my face to change music tracks. This new method is definitely a much improved way of driving and of course keeps me ticket-less.One of the other things that I use this car mount for, I never ever expected to be doing. When not used in the car, my car mount stays on my phone and I use it as a desk stand! My wife uses it likewise wherever she may be as well (see video for more on that). Because of the compact size of this mount, it's perfect for such a purpose. Also, it makes it much easier to hold my phone when reading news, mail, etc. as well when laying down. Even taking pictures is easier because now it's like holding a compact DSLR vs. trying to hold a thin device that's constantly trying to slip out of my hand! All-in-all, this is the perfect car mount for use both in and out of the car....PROS:1. Ultra-compact and very sturdy for its size2. Pops on windshield in like 10 seconds or less (Stick it on, twist for suction, I'm done). The box says under a minute, but I understand them having to say that.3. Extremely reliable windshield mount (dash mount kit included as well)4. Rarely do I even remove the phone from the mount because it works great as a table and desk stand as well!CONS:1. Dash mounting works but the mount plate uses sticky adhesive.2. Holds device a little too well for quick release, which is very good for the phones not coming out, but you'll probably need two hands to remove it.

I bought this mount as a replacement for one of the same style that I bought on eBay. Now let me first start by saying I absolutely love this style of car mount. I can attach to the dashboard or windshield. The arm can only move up and down but the face of the mount rotates 360 so you can have your phone at any angle - portrait or landscape and everything in between.Now what I don't like - This doesn't actually hold the weight of my phone up. I have a HTC One S with a case on it. The case is bulky but made of a light plastic. (it does stretch perfectly to fit the phone I must add). So basically I have the bottom of my phone resting on the dash. This is actually fine with me but just indicates that it's not very strong.My 2nd issue - I bought this for $9.95 which is not a bad price at all.. but I bought the same style on ebay for about $4. Now as far as I can't tell I don't really see a big difference in quality between the two. The one I purchased on ebay did stop working after 6 months though, the arm lost any traction and wouldn't hold the phone up at all - it would jiggle and flop down. As for the Do Good version - I've only had it for 2 months and it's still working well so I can't comment whether it will last longer. I'm just not sure this is significantly better quality than the one I got on ebay. Only clear plus I can see in buying this one is it seems the seller/manufacturer is very customer service oriented so I'm sure they'd help resolve any issues with it. It also is shipped a lot faster as the ebay one I purchased took forever to get to me as it came from a seller in Hong Kong.Hope this helps with any prospective purchasers. This is definitely a great mount - you may just be able to get a slightly better deal.

I use this mount in my car with an iPhone 4s. The suction is really easy to use. Stick it on the window, turn the dial and it stays... for a long time but not permanently. After a few weeks on my window, I returned to my car to find the mount on the floor. It might have fallen off due to the extreme hot weather we were having.I really like its compact design. I don't always put my phone on the mount, so it's nice to simply flip it up so it doesn't block too much of my view. It's about the diameter of a wide mouth bottle cap.The spring grip seems pretty strong. It's easy to use one hand and place the phone in.This product has more pros than cons but the one con is a flaw in the most important feature - the swivel. After a few weeks, the swivel ball was so loose, I couldn't position the phone correctly. It would just flop around.I did find a way to fix it, though. I unscrewed two screws on the piece holding the swivel ball in using a phillips head. I cut a small strip of paper and folded it in half twice so it was 4 layers thick. I placed it over the ball and replaced the piece I unscrewed earlier. I made sure to screw it in real tight and now it works again. Let's hope it lasts.[UPDATE 7/6/14] I remember seeing the documentation that said to always contact customer service with any concerns, but I threw that away a long time ago. So I wrote a review. I was contacted by Do Good through this review. I forwarded my review to their customer service as directed and a couple days later, a new car mount arrived at my doorstep! What!? That's great customer service! They really want to see their customers happy. Well, I haven't gotten around to using the new one just yet. But they do get an extra star (previously 3, now 4).
