This is my third hat by Bailey of Hollywood, however, it is my first straw hat from them. And, I am very glad to report, it does not disappoint! Sharp, clean lines, and crushable! It has character built in its fibers... you cannot go wrong.Not only is it a great looking hat, it is extremely comfortable to wear - even for long periods of time. I had previously purchased another Bailey of Hollywood style polypropylene hat from Village hat shop and was happy with it. I knew I needed to get another one a different color and I had read a lot about the slightly softer feel of this "Billy" braided straw version hat.I was not disappointed I like it better than my original Mannes style that I purchased. It is slightly softer than the Mannes style which is a little stiffer of a hat.this is a great go-to hat whether you're trying to dress it up or dress it down it goes with pretty much anything as I purchase black and that usually will go with almost anything. I was happy with the quality happy with the sizing period the only disappointing thing was the way it was shipped crumpled up in a bag which I understand for shipping purposes makes sense but not when it's a hat -this I would believe falls on Amazon and not the seller however.Love the hat, would definitely purchase again and am looking at purchasing another in another color. Highly recommended.

As others have stated, this hat runs big. I fall in between medium and large (22 3/8 in.) according to Amazon's sizing chart. I'm closer to the medium size, but nothing is worse in a hat than being too tight, so I opted for the large.When they say large they mean it. I put the hat on out of the box and I might as well have tried wearing a hoolahoop on my head. However, having anticipated this, I purchased a large roll of foam filler adhesive tap. I ended up putting a full ring around the rim of the hat inside the inner hat-band and the hat fits perfectly. You can't tell the tape is there, and I'm betting on the added bonus of the foam's absorptive properties for the hot summer. The hat company even provided a foam filler with the hat without my asking, so that was a bonus, but I'm still glad I bought the extra tape because I needed a little more than was provided with the hat.So, here's the short version: - the hat looks dynamite--the birch is beautiful - this hat runs large--if you're not sure about the fit, get some foam filler for the inner bandAll in all, I'm very satisfied. I've been looking for a hat just like this for a year, and now I'm pleased to have found it.

I love this hat I went well with my all white outfit & this is 6th hat I purchased in this style I highly recommend there are are variety of colors to choose from very comfortable.

Old school cool!!! I'm a hat guy, usually rocking a Bama ball cap. But when a Bama ball cap doesn't meet "business casual" I don my "Billy" hat and take boring dockers and a button down to pimp daddy swagger. Hat fits real good, I got the XXL because I have a pretty good size melon on top of my shoulders and it fits great. Not too tight and I'm hear to tell ya I don't like a tight hat. Not too loose, what guy wants to look like he is wearing boiling pot on his head. Looks good cocked back or pulled down in the front a bit. If you don't like the style check out other Baily hats, I have four different ones.

It looks like a straw hat, but it's made with paper/synthetic fiber, which makes it much hotter than a straw hat. This might be a good thing, if you want a winter hat that looks like a straw hat.If you wanted a hat to wear in a hot, sunny place, however, I'd look for a real woven straw hat.

The hat arrived wrapped in plastic, inside of a box, but the hat was crushed.My first thought was to immediately put it back in the box and return it.I decided however to remove the plastic and examine the hat.It felt very flimsy, but it popped into shape.After a couple of days the hat grew on me and is now my 2nd favorite hat.

I tried some wool fedoras, which were fine, but this straw fedora has a smaller overall profile which I think is best for smaller people. It's a great looking hat and because of the textured nature of the material it doesn't look like a block of felt sitting on your head. The wool hats are better for more formal wear in my opinion.
