_________________________________________ 'If comedy is your thing, it's hard to match PG Wodehouse and his classic characters Jeeves and Bertie Wooster for hilarious farce .' Irish Daily Mail ' P.G. Wodehouse wrote the best English comic novels of the century' Sebastian Faulks ' Heaven is Right Ho, Jeeves' Hugh Johnson 'Jeeves, I'm engaged.' 'I hope you will be very happy, sir.' 'Don't be an ass. I'm engaged to Miss Bassett.' Bertie is feeling most put out when he finds that his friend Gussie is seeking relationship advice from Jeeves. Meanwhile Aunt Dahlia has asked Bertie to present awards at a school prize-giving ceremony. In a stroke of genius, Bertie realises he can kill two birds with one stone, palming off his prize-giving duties to Gussie by assuring him that the object of his affections will be there. Several terrible misunderstandings later and facing chaos, Bertie turns, yet again, to Jeeves who swiftly and ingeniously saves the day. _________________________________________ 'Sublime comic genius' Ben Elton 'A cavalcade of perfect joy' Caitlin Moran 'Sunlit perfection... Bask in its warmth and splendour' Stephen Fry 'The greatest chronicler of a certain kind of Englishness' Julian Fellowes Review: a hearty laugh - Forty five minutes of unbridled merriment and laughter. I really enjoyed this book. This is PG Wodehouse at his best . Review: Great Fun, As Always - Jeeves and Bertie Wooster are still a phenomena, and the story has a promising start with Gus Fink-Nottle falling in love. Jeeves is of course a bit like a djinn in a suit, every ready to solve Bertieโs innumerable problems and get him out of a scrape. The plots are not very different from one-another, they tend to similar and the ending predictable. However, if you are reading Wodehouse, you are not reading him for the ending - you are here for the journey, which is always great fun. The โhardcoverโ Mint Edition that I received is a fair job. However, it is not as good as the Everyman editions. The margins are somewhat tight and the cover not very inspired. I was especially disappointed with the binding, which is essentially a hot-glue bind of sheets inside a cardboard cover. Sheets are not sewed, and will therefore probably not last as long as a real hardcover. Nevertheless, itโs good value for money, if you canโt get hold of an Everyman edition, which is similarly priced, but out of stock.

PGW - Master of Word
I am ardent lover of pgw books. His mastery over words, vocabulary, character building and creating comical situations is mind boggling. This book is no different, do read with care it contains a lethal dose of comedy and will make you laugh heartily.

My favorite comedy!
My go to whenever I need a mood booster! I'm glad Wodehouse stories are being published separately, otherwise, the entire omnibus could be quite handful and expensive.

50-50!
It's unfair to review the book of the great PG Wodehouse. But one needs to develop a taste to enjoy his series. Once you like it, you get hooked to it. For first timers, there is a 50-50 chance of you running after the rest of the series or struggle to finish the first pick.

Happy satisfying comedy.
A rare style of writing. That's why his books are popular all over the world.

Another good work of Wodehouse
Oh! Can anyone review Wodehouse's work!! It is just another masterpiece of the comedy genius.. If you have watched Hugh Laurie's British TV series (Jeevs and Wooster) you will enjoy even more the escapades of Bertie! Good read.

Did Wodehouse have an Orwellian side?
I really enjoy this collection of audiobooks. Jarvis has a masterful comedic timing, he really nails the tempo and musicality of the author's prose. Question to fellow readers: is it me or Wodehouse writes blistering put-downs of the English upper crust disguised as airy send-ups? His impeccable command of the English language, playful narrative arcs and colorful characters seem to build a horrible portrayal of the English class system. Wodehouse's aristocrats, though harmless for the most part, appear as a bunch of in-bred, lazy, greedy, incurious, provincial, xenophobic, backstabbing, repressed, cowardly, frivolous, inept, bumbling snobs that would do anything to latch on to their life of privilege and wouldn't survive a week without their small armies of selfless working-class servants. All they care about is "marrying well" and getting intoxicated. Three words: the Drones Club. Not saying that he is some kind of Orwell in disguise, but nobody seems to point this out in the literary world. The man, Wodehouse that is, is always depicted as a sort of gifted lightweight that just happened to have superb talent to turn a phrase. To judge by his life (as far as I know he lived most of his adult life in France & America, returning to England only sporadically) his homecountry was not necessarily his favorite place in the world.

"Right Ho Jeeves" is a masterpiece even by the elevated PG Wodehouse standards. A delightful book to read, with a plot full of twists and turns
