Would this fit a 21inch diameter head, snugley, thx

It could, I bought it as a present for my husband and he has a large head and it fits him ok ✅

but cant u just wear this without a helmet too?

Yes you can. Walking fine, running maybe mot as not tight fit. Thinner than standard beanie as designed to fit comfortably under cycle/motorcycle helmet. Keeps my ears warm when its cold and can still use my bc earphones . Hope this helps

What are the washing instructions?

Big confession, I threw it away with packaging (not inside the cap) so can't take pic - but it seems to have microfleece-like material inside, I used normal 30-40C wash cycle together with other soft cycling stuff, so far had no issues.

Is the size generous? I've got a big head 😁

I have a 60 cm head. It fits me comfortably.
