Review: Crosman 459MT on 2240 - I recently purchased a Crosman 2240 co2 pellet pistol from desertcart. This is a woderful accurate pistol and the factory open sights are woefully inadaquet for the accuracy potential of this fine pistol so I decided to put on a CQB red dot green dot sight from leapers which I also purchased from desertcart and a adpter from 11mm rail to weaver Picatinny to fit the Leapers red dot green dot scope. Well mounting the crosman intermount on the 2240 was pretty straight foward. This done I left the screws only slightly snug so when I mounted the adapter they would self- align with the picatinny rail which they did I centered everything on the barrel then tightend (carefully) the 2pc mount screws dont over tighten them or the hex head screws will strip from the allen wrench. That done I mounted the sight. I noticed right away that there was some novement with the scope on further examination I saw that the barrel could be twisted back and forth a small amount. This is beacause the reciever dosent hold the barrel tight enough not the fault of the mount. I noticed that the front barrel band is aluminum and so I remouved it and drilled and tapped it for a 8-32 x 1/8" long set screw and placed it back and drilled a shallow dimple in the barrel under the set screw. Tightened it up and now its solid as a rock with no movement what so ever. after sighting it in At 50' from a solid rest it makes one ragged hole clover leaf patterns of about a half inch I can't tell you how happy I am with this set up. I think It would still be accurate if I diddn't secure the barrel from its slight movement beacause the scope moves with it so its still alighned with the barrel. But I like everything snug and secure I don't know why Crosman dosen't do this at the factory to this very fine pistol.
Review: Nothing else available without $$ upgrade which is a waste - Almost returned because it stripped instantly but then I just swapped screws for quality m3 16mm and it gets pretty tight to the barrel. The barrel will wobble on this gun if you mount anything too heavy like my dot sight needed to be set up to lean left then shim the right side.... it’s ok but I want to be sure nothing will move or I have less confidence in my sight. So recently I switched it to the ultimate rat plinking combo of a green laser and a spot flood light. Each is mounted to a single mount so I simple lean the flashlight right as far as it goes then lean the laser sights mount left. After it was tight as I could go I shimmed the right side with a piece of broccoli thick rubber band wedged under with a tiny flat screwdriver. Now there is zero wobble and after sighting and setting with a vice it’s a spot on deadly rat killer. Finally may get to eat a freakin pomegranate this year. I used the pinty green laser bought the dovetail 1’ low profile rings for the the laser then my wife bought me (lightning deal) the universal mount spot light with a plastic mount and mounted it offset right side of the other open (didn’t need top part) 1” ring. The laser is dead center on the brightest part of the spot and laser is on a trigger switch on the handle while spot switch kind of hangs to the side..RATS BE GONE!!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this work on a stock crossman 1322?**
A: Yes...the 2-PC Intermount will work on a stock crosman 1322 with the plastic breech. I used a couple of small strips of electrical tape on the inside of the mounts so I would not have to crank it down in order to ensure a snug fit.

**Q: Will this work on Crosman P1377?**
A: HelloYes it will fit your Crosman P1377 and others...I purchased the same item for my Crosman 1322. It works best when your Crosman is equipped with a barrel spacer. The mounts stay secured but the barrel will move without the spacer installed.

**Q: What scope out of the box will fit the 459MT?**
A: HelloI installed a Beeman 4X20WA scope on my Crosman 1322 with the mounts and also a Bushnell 4X20 on my PC77. Most all the 3/8" mounts or dovetail grooves accept the less expensive scoped out of the box!

**Q: So is this something that you tighten on your gun and then attach a scope to it? If yes, does it work well for crosman c11?**
A: Yes to the first thing, but it's designed for the 1377 and a few other guns shaped like it. They all have thin airgun barrels, so I'm pretty sure these are the wrong mounts for the pistol-shaped c11.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Crosman 459MT mounts work, but must be modified to stop scope wobble on my 1322
*by M***. on November 19, 2015*

As several other reviewers have mentioned, the mounts and the added weight of the scope cause the barrel to move. This is not a great design. It is easily fixable, but I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't have to "fix" something that was specifically designed for this purpose. That's called bad design. It is probably because they designed these to work on multiple pellet guns, so they had to loosen tolerances. I understand that, but it seems like they should have built in "adjustments" to make the design work as intended. I installed these on a 1322 and mounted a rather heavy scope with integrated laser and LED reticle. Everything worked well, but there was clearly "slop" between the barrel and the rest of the pistol caused by the scope/mounts. I read several reviews somewhere, as well as here on Amazon, about putting tape or other "spacers" under the mounts to "stop the slop". This works. Again, bad design/implementation by Crosman, but at least there is an easy solution. For my particular situation, I first used small pieces of rubber eraser. That didn't work. They rubber flexed to much and slid out of place. Then, when I made the rubber shims thicker, the mounts chopped them in half. Rubber eraser was a fail. I then cut off small slices (3/16"x1/2") of a point-and-shoot camera strap. It was the typical nylon webbing strap most old 35 mm camera's had to dangle the camera around your neck. There were several other webbing straps on all kinds of devices that I thought about using, but since I never use my old camera (Canon 35mm waterproof) any more, it's strap got cannibalized. That said, after I cut off 4 shims from each side of the strap, I just melted off the end of the strap with a lighter and can't really notice that it was shortened. There was plenty of extra, unused strap length. Cutting off less than an inch of it didn't really make a different. I took the "shims", but places them under the feet of each mount. Tightened them down (carefully, since other users have made me paranoid about the screw threads stripping). The webbing shims worked perfectly. Closed the space under the mount. No more wobbly scope. It's been rock solid for months now. Stays zeroed on the scope and laser.
