The Bestrix cd slot phone mount is simply among the best available at an economical price. After only a week, I found it easy to use, convenient, and has a strong hold on the phone.Among the dozens of different kinds, they can be classified by how the mount attaches to the car: suction cup (windshield or dash), air vent, cd slot, cup holder, cigarette lighter socket, rear view mirror, sun visor, clip to console, steering wheel, custom mount/cradle by phone, case and make of car, screwed into console, or peel-off sticker.I tried several types and either returned them or threw them away. Most were relatively inexpensive. One exception was the custom mount/cradle by phone, case and make of car that cost from $70 to $160. Appears to be quite good, however, I didn't test this one; glad I didn't need to.Once the two pieces of the Bestrix unit are assembled, installation is simple: insert it into the cd slot and flip the latch to tighten it in. Removal is just as quick.Significant aspects:- holds phone in a very sturdy manner- clamps on sides do not interfere with buttons on phone- button on rear side near the top releases side clamps- ball joint allows a variety of orientations- it can be temporarily shifted to access dash controls behind it- unit can be easily removed to play CDs- install does not damage cd unit- includes spacers to increase the thickness of the insert- open at bottom to allow cord to be attached for charging- can be easily transferred to other cars- good customer service (thanked me for the review)Considerations:- won't work well in radios whose face must be lowered to access the cd slot- some cd units have a external lip that may prevent the insert to go in deep enough for a snug fit- in some cases, certain dash displays will not be visible, controls may be inconvenient to access, or block the ash tray or cubby hole.The Bestrix unit lists for just $19.99. For the functionality, quality construction, and ease of use as well as install/uninstall, it's a great deal.

It holds the phone securely and doesn't interfere with the vents. I first tried a vent-mount holder but that prevented the vent from being adjusted on the Lexus. So the CD mount was a good alternative and works well. It is only about an inch or so above the shifter so I need to be mindful when putting the car in park.

Just grabbed an iphone X and an Otterbox case (Symmetry series). I had shelled out a bit of money for a magnetic qi charging car mount, but the magnet just wasn’t strong enough and the phone kept sliding off. I have never had luck with vent mounts- they’re either cheap/weak, or in the winter the heat output is directed at my phone and causes it to overheat. I decided to go with this cd car mount and wasn’t expecting much.Installation was a breeze and took literally thirty seconds. It came with instructions which helped. You are able to install it either “right side up” or “upside down”- upside down just means the phone sits below the cd player, whereas right side up means it sits higher. Upside down worked perfectly for me as it only obscures the car stereo dash buttons and I use my phone for all car audio anyway. Upside down installation also keeps my phone out of the way of the air vents! This thing seems very secure in the cd holder and I’m pleased with its ability to hold my phone. If you have a thick case/phone, it might not work for you- mine is not very thick, and seems like it’s just at the threshold of a good sized fit for this mount. I also really like the button release, so I don’t feel like I’m constantly messing or tugging on my phone or the mount.I only took one star off because it does seem semi durable but the plastic seems a little on the cheaper side, so I’m not sure if this is a long term quality product. But my initial impression is pretty great and I’m actually much more pleased with this than the other $60 magnetic mount I was using prior to this.

My phone is a iPhone SE with a hard case on it making it pretty thick. I have had other phone holders that are suction Mount and vent mount as well as accessories mounted. None of which would securely hold my phone in place. However this cd Mount holder did a great job holding my phone in place and is in a very convenient location that I really like.I took it on a 160 mile road trip bumps vibrations turns nothing on my trip shock lose my phone. It held in place securely. I like the construction of the cd Mount it’s NOT to heavy for the cd slot to handle.Looks nice and is a convenient location for the phone. It Versatel in its mounting position so it’s easy to put it positions that are best for viewing and access. And it stays in place. Plus what’s a huge plus to me is that it comes with a one year warranty. I have other mounts fail within a day first use. This cd mount held up very well on a long trip the very day I got it.And it’s super easy to take your phone on and off the mount. Very cool product so happy I found this one. Fast delivery in perfect condition when it arrived. Very well made and thought out product.

Easy to insert into CD slot

Cumple con lo que mencionan, me funcionó perfecto. Tiene distintos modos de ajuste, lo uso diario y mi celular es grande, incluso lo uso con case, cosa que con otros no podía.

2012 chevy cruze sedan. Fits the slot well. The phone holder holds my phone well. Cons..the right brace that holds the phone is at the same level as my power off button on my moto g5. It is construction season and the phone wobbles around because of the uneven terrain
