Use 2 base layers, put on any nail polish you wish and finish with 1 - 2 more layers on top, make sure all layers have adequate time to dry in between applying another coat. My nails were splitting lenghtwise, cracking, flaking, nail polish lasted 2 days before it chipped off (along with layers of my nails) it was awful. They were so short it became painful. Then I was introduced to nailtiques #2 and immediately I saw a difference. The nail polish stays beautiful for up to 2 weeks and I do a lot of work with my hands (typing, scrubbing pots and pans). It it worth every penny and 2 bottles last about 8 - 9 months. I recommend this product so very very much. My nails grow long now and I even have to shorten them so they are more convenient. Before they never grew because they kept breaking.
