Kenro Izu: Eternal Light

This was Xmas gift for my son. He loved it. Photos were beautifol

I really like Kenro Izu's large format photography and saw some of his pd/pt prints in Siem Reap a number of year back and they were beautiful. I do not like this book as well as Sacred Places, which was done with his large camera. His close ups of peoples' faces and shots of daily life, all done with a smaller hand held camera, do not really stand out from the work of many other photographers in my opinion. Otherwise, the book is very nice and is of good quality. I know that many printers these days maintain that they can get as good or better negatives from an Epson Printer than they can from a large view camera and I am not going to argue with them. I just feel that Mr. Izu's street photography is nothing special, and prefer his well thought out large format work.
