4x Katjes Katzen Pfötchen (German Import)

Not much to say, but if you love black (anise type) licorice, this is the best soft licorice around. It is strong yet sweet enough for daily snacking.

This soft licorice is amazing. The tast is really good.

These are perfect. If you are a fan of European licorice with a perfect sweet/salty balance and a chewy gummy like consistency then these are for you. No artificial flavors and no animal gelatin is a bonus. Have orders several times now and the quality is always good and consistent.

So tasty and so addictive. These has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.

Katjes makes the best liquorice. Great full flavor, not the bland taste that most brands of liquorice in today's market have.

These Katzen Pfötchen are produced by Katjes, one of the leading manufacturers of German licorice. They are little dome-shaped drops with a "K" on top (I'm guessing for "Katjes"), are firm but chewy, have a strong licorice flavor, and are mildly salty.For those whose only exposure to licorice has been the mild American variety, please note. The licorice flavor of most European licorice, including the Pfötchen, is much stronger, and even though these are not as salty as some German and Dutch licorice, they do have a mildly salty taste. So, be prepared for something different. For those who are familiar with European licorice already, these dome-shaped drops will be a real treat. They are very similar in taste, shape, and texture to Dutch Kokindjes.Here's a list of ingredients: Sugar, glucose fructose syrup, modified starch, brown sugar syrup, licorice extract (7%), ammonium chloride, gelling agent: agar-agar, natural flavorings, herb extracts, glazing agent: beeswax white. May contain traces of milk.

I've been sampling many European black licorices lately. As a brand, Katjes is emerging as a favorite. But this one's different. As far as flavor, I'm not sure why I find these so objectionable. I don't mind a little salt, maybe this is to much for my taste. Maybe it's the sweetness. The texture is much softer than the others I've liked as well. I suppose it's a combination of too much soft salty sweet. I can't get through the first bag. I won't be ordering these again.
