Great for Kombucha too!!
I recently tried these loose black tea leaves, and Iโm absolutely thrilled with my purchase! The taste is fantastic โ rich, smooth, and full-bodied. It has a wonderful aroma and a depth of flavor thatโs just perfect for my morning tea or any time of day. One of the best things about these tea leaves is how versatile they are. I use them to make kombucha, and they work wonderfully. The tea ferments beautifully, producing a delicious, tangy kombucha with a perfect balance of flavors. Itโs clear that these leaves are of high quality, which makes a big difference in the end result. In terms of value, this product is unbeatable. You get a generous amount of tea for a very reasonable price. Compared to other brands Iโve tried, this one offers great quality without breaking the bank. Plus, the packaging is convenient and keeps the tea fresh. Overall, I couldnโt be happier with these loose black tea leaves. They taste great, work perfectly for making kombucha, and offer excellent value for the price. If youโre a tea lover or a kombucha brewer, I highly recommend giving these a try. Five stars all the way!

Bold enough for a coffee-drinker, complex enough for a tea snob
I'm generally a coffee drinker, with a serious side habit of green tea, mostly iced (if green tea has 10% of the health benefits claimed, I'm immortal). Hot, black teas have always been a little thin to me, but this one holds its own with my coffee-honed palate. I've read that a high-end Assam should have a malty character, which this does, but not heavily so. It has a full-bodied, mildly acidic flavor that is suitable to consume without anything in it, but does well with a splash of milk and a touch of sweetener. I'm not sure that I would enjoy it as much as an iced tea, but I'll probably try it just to see. I primarily purchased this because I'd never tried Assam before, and I am very pleased. I prepared it in my Bodum Assam tea pot, using 1/2 filtered, 1/2 distilled water, at a temperature just off boil. I steeped it for longer than the recommended 2 minutes, as I prefer my hot beverages on the stouter side (again, coffee palate). After about 5 minutes, it achieved a wonderful amber color, and had a distinctive aroma (something beyond just "hot tea"). I started with about 5 tablespoons in the infuser of the pot, and ended up just filling it about 2/3 full. I don't know if I'm breaking some sort of fancy tea protocols there, but the result is delicious. If you let it steep overlong, you get an increasingly opaque liquid with quite a punch (but eminently drinkable for someone who likes their coffee to chase them about a bit in the morning). The product appears to be pretty uniformly leaves, relatively large, and few stems that I could see. It came in a tightly packed, easily resealable bag, with a product specific sticker affixed to the front. I would have liked a little more package-literature about the tea, I suppose, to tell me more about the tea, it's sourcing, history, etc., so I could sound more like a tea nerd afterwards, but all in all, an excellent tea, and one that I will certainly keep handy as part of my regular stock.

I've Tried Several
I've tried a few of these, so I figured I'd share for anyone curious. โข Assam: very good quality and reasonable for the price; one of my favorite โข Earl Grey: the bergamot is very strong; might be better with a lighter brewing โข English Breakfast: pretty good, but I've had better โข Irish Breakfast: very good; definitely one of my favorites; malty and rich; excellent with milk โข Lapsang Souchong: absolutely horrid; tastes like ashes from a campfire; I brewed it once because it was so bad โข Scottish Breakfast: I was hoping for the same level as the Irish Breakfast, but it's not on par; very granular and a low to mid quality tea โข Yunnan: absolutely delicious; a strong contender for the best; much lighter and difficult to mess up; would make a good iced tea

A Tea-Lover's Delight -- Delicious and Organic
This is loose leaf, great tasting black tea! Assam in India is the largest tea-growing region in the world, helping to make India #2 after China as the greatest tea producer on Earth. Assam is in the upper north-east area of the nation, bordering Burma (Myanmar), and not far from Nepal and Tibet. The Latin name for the tea plant is Camellia sinensis. It thrives in areas near sea level, basted in a tropical climate with temperatures often over 100F, with 10 or more inches A DAY of rain! Assam has long been famous for its strong "breakfast tea," thanks to the influence of the British Empire. It is robust, distinctive, malty, and somewhat sweet. We half-fill a tea-ball with tea, and then hang it in a glass interior thermos carafe. My mother, who was of English origin, taught me early that good tea must be made only with boiling water. So we use a stainless steel kettle to bowl the filtered water, and then pour it, while still vigorously boiling, over the tea-ball and into the carafe. We allow the tea to brew for a good fifteen minutes prior to imbibing, and then remove the ball. However, even if we forget and leave the ball in the carafe, the tea does not get bitter. That speaks to the quality of the Positively Tea offering! In our opinion, Positively Tea's organic loose leaf is an excellent product of Assam, worthy of your patronage. The fact that it is organic, in a 3rd world where dubious chemicals are routinely used, is a huge plus. The aroma is delightful, and the tea, delicious. By the way, we also purchase Organic Peppermint Leaf Tea, Loose Leaf Bag, Positively Tea LLC. (1 lb.) . We drink Assam tea in the morning, and mint tea (which is also organic and caffeine-free from this Company) the rest of the day. Highly recommended!

Good quality Assam leaves
Well packed tea leaves. Excellent robust strong malty flavour. Slightly on the expensive side, but then organic Assam leaves are not always freely available.
