Is this okay for indoor use? Not to thick?

It set off our smoke detectors.

Must be used with fog chiller .. does it really? there are occasions when we just use the fogger for a short time, not filling the chiller with ice

We just put it in our little fog machine, and only use for a short time until it runs out. We’ve never had to chill anything. Our machine doesn’t even have that option, and it works perfectly fine.
