Why is it just blinking red?

It must be defective ifReturn it and reorder. It should have many colors. Mine does not do that.

Does the water warm up and emit warm mist? Mine is cold throughout.

Mine is cool. I don't think it's meant to warm up.

Mine seems to leak a little from the seam created when the cover goes on the atomizer. i added water to the max line. was that too much?

Are you lining it up right? Check that both the top and bottom slots line up, opening on top of opening. There is an open slot on top cover and one on bottom water holder. These must line up.
