Finally, a perfect pizza sauce
I love cooking and have been experimenting with homemade pizza for years, but something has always been a little off: first it was the dough, but then I found some easy and reliable dough at a local gourmet store. After that, it was the sauce. I am not a fan of sugary pizza sauces and it is surprisingly difficult to find sauces that are not filled with sugar or corn syrup. I am also not a fan of anchovies, and I was surprised to find that some sauces that go easy on the sugar go heavy on the anchovies. Aren't anchovies supposed to be a topping, anyway? Let's call it personal preference. Of course, you could always add those things (sugar or anchovies) to Rao's sauce if you're into them. At least you could vary to taste that way.My point is: Rao's sauce is straightforward and delicious, with none of the additives I don't want. It tastes like the pizza sauce I've eaten at my favorite wood-oven pizza places (hey, I like Domino's, but this is a different thing). It is versatile and can be altered to taste; it also goes well with every topping I try. I like to add some freshly dried oregano, a little hot sauce, and then top the pizza with some sparse mozzarella (not the pre-shredded kind), some grated parmesan or other hard Italian cheese, and then whatever else I'm in the mood for--I've tried various kinds of sliced sausage and ham including Canadian bacon, I almost always do onion, and just before the pizza is ready I add some sliced tomato and basil that I've patted dry. (Patting dry is key, it keeps the pizza from developing the messy watery/oily sheen that I don't like.) Ok, so now you have a recipe, for what it's worth. My point is that Rao's pizza sauce has transformed my approach to pizza making and with it's help I make pizza a lot more frequently and get to learn a lot from trial and error.Even though I can't buy Rao's at my local grocery store I will not make a pizza unless I have this sauce on hand. I either order it here or I drive two hours to buy some. It's well worth it. Enjoy!

Always yummy
We love that there are very few ingredients and all of them are great. Just add pasta and you've got a wonderful dinner. So easy and so delicious with so little work. Can't beat it. 5 Stars every time.

Great sauce but this seller refuses to replace two broken bottles. So I'm out $20+ bucks!
Great sauce but one of the two-packs I ordered arrived broken and spewing sauce out the top which got on everything else in the box. When I went to report this so I could get a replacement I ran into a stone wall. No returns allowed on this item I'm told and even in chat with a bot and after I registered that I received broken items, I was basically told tough luck for you. I've been an amazon prime customer for many years and have spent probably 10's of thousands of dollars here in that period. This is the first really bad experience I've had. Hope it's not a new cost cutting trend. I love the sauce and orders from other vendors came just fine, by the way. So this is not a review of the marinara -- which is delish. AMAZON? This ain't fair. Booh on you!

Tastes really good
My bottles arrived without being broken. I made italian chicken with one bottle, I cooked chicken in this sauce and put mozzarella on top of it. The taste was so good. Plus, I heated up the rest of the jar and put it over pasta.

Like My Mother's
Until recently, I would have never considered buying "canned" marinara sauce. This was because of the wonderful recipe my mother passed along to me. However, I am now living alone and need something quicker and easier to prepare. After researching the possibilities I ordered two jars of Rao's Homemade Marinara sauce. I was very skeptical at first, to the point of not wanting to waste my homemade meatballs to some unproven sauce. To my absolute surprise and delight, I found this product to be as close as possible to the flavors I grew up with. It is fantastic! Sorry Mom, I have loved your recipe and have passed it along to our kids, but I will take the easy way out by using Rao's.

Absolutely Marvelous!
As one who is of half Sicilian and half northern Italian heritage, I have to say I was thunderstruck by the excellent flavor of Rao’s! I was stunned and very pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor, even after having read so many positive reviews. It is very close to my own from scratch. This is the only commercial pasta sauce I have bought that I didn’t have to greatly doctor. I used it as is, and was greatly pleased! (OK, next time I may add a bit of wine, and pinches of sugar and Romano cheese, but still!) It absolutely rates five stars and I will continue to purchase it. Very highly recommended!
