We have used similar tongs in the past for salads etc but needed something to turn patties etc. in the skillet when cooking. We did not find any that worked very well until we purchased this one. The flat part is kind of small but it works better than any of the others that we have tried in the past. In fact it works so well that we ordered a 2nd one. Very satisfied.

didn't realize silicone was marred with washing/drying in a dishwasher by a white film that was hard to remove... this still has that same silicone but not on the working ends and is black (vs red ones that i just threw out) will update if needed

We've had a pair of these already for several years, they have held up in the dishwasher and being rattled around in a drawer for all that time with no damage and are my favorite kitchen tool for getting waffles off the waffle iron and flipping sausages in the pan. They are also great for getting smaller items off a cookie sheet. I bought 2 more pair's as they are so inexpensive.

I primarily got this for my 10-inch cast iron lodge pan for taking out and flipping meats. The flat spatula end gets under the meat quite well and is able to easily flip it even at the hot temperatures at the cast is able to put out. The metal is soft enough also not to really scratch the seasoning on the bottom of the cast which is a plus.

Great for outdoor grilling, which is why I bought them. Super each to use and clean.

Looked like a good idea, but regular tongs work as well.
