Is this correct suze for receptacle plate covers on a outlet?

It’s too narrow. A 3/16” tip makes it a little easier not to scratch a new stainless plate cover, but a 1/4” tip will also work as long as the tip isn’t off center of the screw.

It will fit. But its probably a little bigger than you would want to carry in your shirt pocket.
