Venus Star Rising: A New Cosmology for the Twenty-First Century

Important Addition to the Astrological Canon
This important book reinterprets the astrological Venus. The author looks to Venus' synodic cycle from an earth-based, geocentric viewpoint between the Sun and Venus, although the heliocentric, "outer-view" based cycle between earth and Venus is covered so one can understand how the cycle occurs in actuality. Interestingly, Galileo was able to discover heliocentricity through observing these Venus cycles, although some in other cultures were independently on to heliocentricity as well. This apparent geocentric "dance" between the Sun and Venus was known and used by many ancient cultures, whereby Venus is an evening star for much of the year, then retrogrades, then reappears as a morning star. This cycle and the conjunctions where Venus and the Sun come together in the sky every 9 and 1/2 months are different than the "isolated" Venus which tends to indicate how one relates to others (Libra), one's resources (Taurus), and more. But this Venus is about expressing oneself by heart. New insights can be garnered by looking at Venus in this way.Specifically, one can look to the date and corresponding sign where the Sun and Venus came together in the sky pre-birth, right on one's birth date, or just after. This sheds light on one's life purpose, talent, and how to live by heart, to paraphrase the words of the author. Many different forms of astrology use pre-birth lunations to garner insights into oneself and their life events, and this is a welcome addition to that tradition. This wide-ranging book covers ground such as sacred geometry and the golden section, which Venus's cycle embodies, how one can apply the Venus Star Point to one's life, and also correlates Venus' cycle to major world events, called mundane astrology. Beyond Venus, this book is worth having just to get access to Guttman's useful interpretation of the astrological signs and glyphs. She's a veteran astrologer who has contributed much to the field, uniquely at that.Because the book is so wide-ranging, encompassing mathematics, astrology, world events, and the spiritual undertones of Venus, it resists being read from front to back. However, it's worth making the effort, and if you think of reading the book like a tour through time, signs, and astrology, the feeling I was left with after reading the book was the type of feeling you get after having read something truly great and satisfying to the soul. Still, it can be used effectively as reference material, and is highly recommended for astrologers and non-astrologers alike. It's my hope that this unique discovery and revival of Venus will catch on and endure for generations.

Innovative - for Astrologers and non-astrologers alike
I have been working with Venus deeply since 2017 and Arielle's star point work is such an important addition. The great thing about the Star Point work is that this can be used to add another layer to a reading or as a stand alone consultation and is easy for non astrologers to understand also.Wonderful, wonderful work

Essential info for all astrologers!
This book provides truly groundbreaking information in astrology. I'm a practicing astrologer and when I started incorporating the Venus Star Point into my client readings it filled in a major gap in people's charts. Just as the book says, the VSP gets straight to the heart of a person and shows what can bring us deep fulfillment. I wish all astrologers would explore this material and begin incorporating it with clients. It's truly a hidden (but hopefully soon well-known) gem in astrological literature!

A necessity for the serious astrologer
Wonderful information overall. It does require careful study of the material from the get-go to fully work with it. Both the depth of information and the research that has been poured into this book are impressive. It is not a book to skim and cherry pick tidbits. The explanations and theory are expounded carefully, so it's a good idea to read closely, or you may be lost if you go looking for how to tell what a person's Venus Star Point is. It's there, just don't skip around. Once you get a handle on how to use the book and work with it, you will never do another chart without referring to Venus Star Rising.I have been quite impressed with the descriptions of the Star Points - they are amazingly accurate descriptions the people I know and of my clients. If you are a serious astrologer, this should be on your bookshelf.

Revolutionary astrology knowledge
Great in depth analysis of the Venus/Earth synodic cycle. Revolutionary idea and eloquently described by Arielle Gutman. It would be nice to see this study of all of the planets and their cycles with Earth. Very valuable information. Must have for all advanced astrologers!!!
