To be completely honest, I bought this thinking "this might be the gimmickiest looking POS I've ever seen". Why would I still buy it then, you ask? Because I'm nothing if not the cheapest mfer this side of the atlantic, that's why. Why are YOU browsin' amazon, huh? Anyway, this things works. Like, ACTUALLY works, and quite well, too. Super easy. Just lay the mat down, start doing your puzzle, and when you're ready for a break, throw the fully inflated tube right on top of your puzzle and roll like Snoop Dogg taught you. I've had my share of nice puzzles, and some not-so-nice ones, and they stay together really well when unrolling. A piece or two will pop off the edges of crappy puzzles when you open it up, but it takes two seconds to put them back and if you buy nicer ones than I do (remember, I'm the cheapskate) then you won't lose any at all. The more air in the tube, the better it works. The mat attracts cat hair like nobody's business, but it's better than the cats eating my puzzles so I deal.

The videos are sped up for convenience, but I took my time and was gentle when rolling the puzzle mat up and laying it back out. In the first video (wooden floor), I rolled up the mat when I was about 75% finished with the puzzle. The second video (carpet floor) shows me unrolling it to continue working the next day. The mat kept most of the pieces securely in place, although a few lifted slightly. I was hoping for a firm, thin surface similar to a yoga mat – something that lies completely flat on carpet but can still be rolled up. However, this mat is more like a thick cloth. You can feel the unevenness of the carpet underneath, but fortunately, it doesn’t interfere with the puzzle itself. Overall, it’s a good option for the price, perfect for casual/beginner puzzlers who aren't fully immersed in the hobby like myself or for those who have a hard surface (ie table, hard floor) to work on underneath. I wish I could give 4.5 stars. This is my first puzzle mat so I have nothing to compare it to. Maybe the best puzzle mats in the market also slightly lift pieces and not totally flat on carpet.

This works great! We live on a boat so I can’t leave the puzzle out when I’m not working on it. This is easy to roll up and keeps the puzzle pieces in place.

I made a mistake of putting a puzzle on it right out of the box. The bumps where it had been folded were preventing my pieces from staying together. It was extremely frustrating to do a puzzle with a bumpy background. The tube will not inflate! Maybe I will use an old rolled up towel or something instead. Also the felt attracts all the puzzle dust and even with a sticky rollers of it wouldn’t come off. I may try to use an iron on it and try again. Also, if you get a grouping of pieces put together and want to move it, you obviously can’t just slide it off into your hand to move as it adheres to the mat which is to be expected because the mat is doing its job but sometimes you do want to be able to slide pieces easier. Would’ve returned but I missed the window. I do like the lines do help you find the edges of the puzzle but they’re not exactly necessary. I’m going to try it again if I can get it to smooth out.
