Great camp cooker at a great price!
So far, so good! Important - Like with all cast iron, season before you use this! I followed the recommended instructions on the product website and seasoned for one hour in 250 degree oven. I have not taken this to camp yet, but I’ve tried it out both on the stove eye and the fire pit and it’s worked so far with a little practice. I’ve tried grilled cheese, potatoes, and fruit “pies.” My favorite so far is two slices of bread (butter the outsides) with apple butter and cinnamon on the inside. It makes a quick apple turnover! I’ve had the best results with canned fruit or preserves - your bread will burn before you get enough heat to cook fresh fruit. You could try a pie crust or phyllo dough, but so far I’ve only tried things I could replicate with little to no effort while camping with minimal ingredients that need to be kept cold. I have not found the handles to be too week as other reviews have said, but you would not be holding this constantly while cooking. You can find a log or rock to prop it up. The handles easily twist out to clean, pack or season the cooker. For the price (I paid $15), this double pie iron definitely delivers.

Really nice
Bought these for comping. Have used a couple times and I love them. Have made grilled cheese and pizza sandwiches. I do wish the squares were a little bigger like the single ones bc a piece of bread doesn't quite fit. But these work great and are very durable. Make sure you spray them ao they dont stick and have something to place these on bc they are heavy.

Cast iron camper pie maker
This makes the nicest camper pies I have ever seen! No flimsy non-stick aluminum - this thing is made from cast iron! It was a little tricky getting the bread to fit inside, but it was well worth the effort once I seen the finished product. I made Reuben sandwiches and the design sealed all the good stuff inside a pocket sandwich! You can use it over a campfire or cheat a little and use it on your cook stove!

Love this and will use it for every camping trip
My girlfriend’s bougie husband introduced me to this. I’m a tent camper my whole life. They have a mansion on wheels. I like to “rough it.” Them, not so much. I cook over the fire pit or one single burner I’ve had for 25 years. Never ever have I made a grilled cheese sandwich while camping. But I won’t go back now. Italian bread with Colby Jack, mozzarella and shredded Mexican cheese with a good smear of pesto. I’m turning into a bougie tent camper now! Spray some pam on it and clean up is non existent. Definitely recommend. But not to those campers that are true “roughing it” types.

Things stick
We used this for the first time camping, I grew up using one like this and couldn't wait to use it with my kids. We started with grilled cheese in them. We sprayed with grill spray oil (which I do with all my cast iron) and one side had stuff stick to it that would not come off with just wiping or picking at it. I obviously don't want to use dawn on it, but I might have to answer then try to reseason, which is a pain. But, or did make grilled cheese. Normal size bread peekabout the edges and obviously gets charred and needs cut off, so overall I wish it was slightly larger (literally like 0.2" in each direction). But it brownes the bread nicely on the inside without burning it. I even made an egg sandwich in it the next morning and forgot it over the fire for a bit and it still didn't seem to overly burn the side to the fire, which was nice. So overall it's a great product, I just wish I didn't need to clean with soap and reseason after one use and that it was a tiny bit bigger.

Awesome!
AWESOME! We made so many different meals with this on our camping trip.. but my favorite was the breakfast sandwich pies! It's so easy to use & it only takes a couple minutes to cook ... USE PAM OR BUTTER IT WILL STICK!

Excellent product
I thought the handles would have gotten hot while in use However they stayed very cool Also I tried it with a burger and bun flipped up and melted everything together It has ample room Works as stated Turned a normal hamburger into gourmet hamburger same as a normal grill cheese Highly recommend

Campfire Favourite
I grew up using pie irons and for a number of years had forgotten about them. After I purchased my single-size at a cottage show, I quickly remembered how popular these are around the fire and 1 was not enough. This double size feeds a crowd faster, but I'll warn that it is quite heavy so may not be great for the smaller kids. The combination of having a single and a double is working very well for us.

Poca Calidad y tamaño no funciona
