CE Level 2 protection
I have not crashed on my Trumph yet to test the Alpinestars Men's Nucleon KR-HR Motorcycle Hip Protector, yet. they fit well into My HWK riding pants and are far more substantial they the CE level 1 pads that came on the HWK riding pants. Should I crash and have to use the Alpinestars Men's Nucleon KR-HR Motorcycle Hip Protector I will share my experience with you all.Happy Trails!

Not sure if I'll keep these
If you're just looking to see if these change how you feel an impact, I hit myself as hard as I could and I hurt my hand without feeling anything on my hip. The issue for me is whether they'll be in the right place when it matters.I'm on the fence between these and one of the D3O brands. Alpinestars obviously have a great reputation, and these are used on the track, which should speak to their capabilities, let alone the level 2 CE rating. The thing that I'm debating is the shape. These are a little different shape from the LP2 hip protectors from say Klim or Icon, and definitely from the Rukka brand. My main concern is coverage, which these seem to have, but from trying them out, I'm not really sure where they should sit. If you have Astars pants, maybe that's not a problem. I'd also note that these are pretty stiff out of the box. They get more flexible on your body, and probably quite a bit on a hot day. In colder climates/late season I think going down on this might offer a lot less protection than in summertime. I think I will probably try to get the other shapes to compare with. Since I'm adding to garments without existing pockets, I'll just make the bag whatever size it needs to be and sew it in. These DO offer the advantage of coming with their own bags, but mesh is cheap, so not a deciding factor compared to performance.

one of the better CE 2 hip pads?
I arrived on these via online review claiming them to be one of the better hip pads - I tend to agree. these are super hard, but I think that is the point. I have a cheap pair of mesh motorcycle pants (wicked stock), that these, and their knee pad fit perfectly. Funny, the pads combined cost more than the pants I thing, or about the same - but I'm a fan of the mesh pants with the full leg zip, and between them and these pads - feel pretty good about a quick on and off, leg protective system

Not as pliable as I was led to believe.
Took a few rides to get these positioned (and broken in?) well enough to not dangerously inhibit my movement. These destroyed my confidence with coming up to stop signs and stop lights, as I lost so much speed in moving my feet from the pegs to off the pegs. Turns out I had them a little too high and a little too forward, and that quarter inch made a ton of difference. Finally, these things are STIFF. Yes, you can bend them around, but it takes quite a bit more force than I was expecting. The price you pay for CE level 2 protection, I suppose.

Good
Lightweight, good velcro points and I don't notice it much when riding. Spilled on my left side, which is not my good side due to previous accident and surgery, and it seemed to work well, hip came out this one ok. I use it with my street leathers or my MX pants

Comfortable
Other reviewers said it’s uncomfortable. It’s not I didn’t notice it once on the bike, I haven’t used it in the cold but in warm weather it’s soft and moldable I can’t be breaking a hip on track so it’s comforting in that respect. It’s not as comfortable as regular jeans but did you think it would be?

Strong but comfortable
Used twice so far. Very comfortable, cover the hip well. Slid into pockets of riding shorts easy.

So glad i bought these....
If you do not have hip protectors get them. Crashed at a recent track day and my leathers hit the pavement right on the hips and got up and walked away no problem. Would never ride without them. Protects one of the highest contact points in the unfortunate event of a crash.
