Leatherman - Charge ALX Multitool, Stainless Steel with Nylon Sheath

There are a lot of different Leatherman models and configurations to choose from. I was very happy with my choice on this one.Aside from the amazing functionality of so many tools in such a small package, there's also definitely a plain old cool factor on the Leatherman's in general. This Charge ALX looks and feels very cool. As you turn it around in your hands and start checking out all the tools, the whole thing has a very high quality feel to it. Everything locks into place and operates smoothly.The tool options on the ALX were perfect for me. Throw in the extra bit set and it's mind boggling how much this thing can do. I much prefer the cutting hook on this over the scissors on the AL model. The cutting hook is on the end of a gnarly, serrated blade.The only thing I was a little unsure about when I purchased was the handles. It's hard to tell from the pic what they will feel like or look like in real life. The black, anodized aluminum looks and feels great. Again that feel of high quality and cool factor melded together.I got the one with the Nylon sheath. I like it. It's burly, feels tough and has room to slide in extra bits and the extender. For me it's more of a travel case (throw it in my backpack) than a sheath I would wear. Perfect.Super cool, high quality, extremely useful tool. I can't imagine anyone pulling this out of the box and feeling disappointed.

My unit arrived with a scratched finish, was very difficult to open and shut everything. I was also surprised that it was heavier than my Wave. Sent back and ordered the TTI.

Better than expected, haven't used in anger yet, but great to have on the motorcycle for those emergency repairs. Multi mini tool packs are great, and cover all the metric bits for my ZX14R.

Did not come with the gift tin as stated in the description. Not a big deal, but I don't like it when things are misrepresented.

I like the fact that it is made from steel which makes it feel sturdy in your hand and gives me the confidence to give this as a gift to my very close friend which she loves to go camping and hiking. I look forward in seeing her reaction as she would open up her present, the best thing about this Leatherman is that it has the knives on the outside of the unit for easy access to cut what you need without all the flipping of the joints, it also has wire cutters that can cut solid 10 penny nails which is a plus in my book, so if you need a tool in a tight spot this is the one to get

This is a great product and very functional, however when i ordered i believed I was going to receive the version with scissors rather than two separate bit drivers. All in all it has still come in handy. Has an extremely sharp knife and the steel lasts quite long. The gut hook is even more amazing especially since i have so many farm animals and am constantly having to cut open hay bales.

So far so good.. I like everything about it.It has lots of great cutting tools and I really like the screwdrivers with the different bits. And I really like that all the tools lock in place.

I am a student studying technical theatre. I work on shows from big IATSE calls to some pretty big shows at UB's road house theatre to little sporting events calls; i bring my leatherman with me to every call and use it more than i could've imagined. It is incredibly versitile and sturdy enough to be confident in using it places other multi tools would fail. I recieve good remarks from everyone I lend it to on ther work site. If you are looking for a very serious and effective multi-tool then this is the right tool for you.
