Handy hand drill
Purchased for drilling sheet rock when my kids want me to hang a picture or a shelf or a tv or what ever that way I don’t have to carry a cordless drill, this hand drill fits nicely in my “home repair toolbox “that goes with me anytime I’m going to the kids house.the hand drill works really well and I like that it has drill bit storage in the handle, only dislike is there’s no storage for the chuck key

Modern iteration of a traditional tool
I've owned and used one or another version of this tool for over 50 years. If you keep it accessible, and filled with an assortment of bits, you are likely to use it more than you might expect, for a wider range of tasks than you might initially imagine. Accessibility is the key. This easily fits in an office desk, kitchen or bathroom drawer, as well as a tool or craft box tote tray. The modest price makes it realistic to keep one in all of those locations. It, comes with several sizes of wood bits, but will be most useful if you maintain a wider selection of bits inside. I recommend at least two sizes of carbide tipped masonry drills (good for creating pilot holes in sheet rock); 3-4 sizes of bits for drilling into metal, and one or two sizes of countersink or chamfer bits (used to enlarge holes and to smooth edges of already drilled holes). All of these are available in shorter lengths, and all will fit in the rather capacious space within the plastic handle. The handle itself is contoured to be comfortably held in most sizes of hands. It includes molded in ribs that increase the security of one's grip. Though perfectly functional in its plastic form, I miss the wooden handles of older models. Sometimes those were made of nice hardwoods (I have ones in Rosewood, Blackwood and Walnut) that made them of visual interest. and which were friendly to the hand. The plastic will do, but lacks the charm and warmth of the wooden handles. The chuck itself is quite strong and will allow a tenacious grip on the installed bit. It is both heavier and larger in diameter than is required for most tasks this hand drill will be put to. The size may limit the places one may seek to fit this drill, but its greater drawback is that it is quite weighty and makes for a poorly balance tool when held in an operational grip. Adding more bits to the handle helps with the balance, but of course adds to the overall weight. Perhaps the greatest failing of this tool is the lack of a means to secure the chuck key to the body of the tool. There will be few that have several spare chuck keys laying about, so a means to attach the key to the body of the tool is highly desirable. It would not take much for the manufacturer to include a plastic leash with a lanyard that could be connected to an eyebolt at the end or the handle, or looped around a groove in the handle. This will seem like a small thing until the time comes to put the tool to use, and the chuck key cannot be readily found, Overall though, a very useful tool for a modest price. It falls short of a 5 star rating for the reasons described above, but it is fully worthy of a 4 star ranking and is recommended to almost everyone who engages in DIY or craft projects,

Would like to store in handle but this works somewhat.
Works just fine, I would suggest that to improve it the key should fit in the handle. So it can be stored and not lost. I have come up with away by putting the key Handle in the jaws and tightening. But I think if it were just a little shorter it would fit nicely in the handle.

Now if they could make it turn under pressure.
For starting pilot holes, it's perfect. But don't count on it for more than 1/4" or so; it gets tedious. If they could make it turn on its own when pressure was applied, that would be perfect.

Basic but works.
This is a basic handheld holder for drill bits. Useful for smaller hobby uses where a powered drill isn’t useful. Works, has a space to store bits, and includes bits, Only real minus is the chuck key to loosen/tighten the jaws is separate and inevitably will be lost. It is too large for the storage compartment.

Good manual drill
I bought this to tap trees while in the woods and it’s a great little drill. The handle is hollow, allowing the storage of smaller bits, but note that it does not come with a 1/4” bit, and if you buy a 1/4” bit, it’s too long to store inside the handle. So I used a hacksaw and cut 1/2” off the base of the bit, and it still held fine within the chuck. It now also fits within the handle for storage.
