Great tap, but why can't I buy just one?
Worked flawlessly to tap threads into the frame of my Ford Transit 150 Van when installing a CURT receiver hitch. Giving this item a 4 instead of 5 for the buying options. Who would ever need (3) taps of this size? I would have preferred to have purchased only one tap, but even one tap with the matching drill bit would have been a better buying option. In response to a question someone had on whether the thread was "coarse", I've attached a picture of the tap against a mm rule.

Great thread cleaners.
Cleaned out the threads on my exhaust manifold with no issues. These will almost fit in a quarter inch extension. So if you have to tap out some threads in a tight space, some socket ingenuity will take you places. While it comes with three taps, they are slightly different on the slope of the bevel. I only needed the one with the longest tapering.

Worked Fine
I bought this set because I needed to chase the threads on several nuts that were welded onto the steel tube. My guess is the welding was a little sloppy. I only needed the taper tap (nothing behind the hole) but I am happy to have the others for the next project.

3 Pcs Hardware 12mm x 1.75mm Machine Bottoming Taper and Plug Metric Tap from Amico
These 3 Pcs Hardware 12mm x 1.75mm Machine Bottoming Taper and Plug Metric Tap set cost $8.22 for all three and shipping was free from Amico. They are adequate for my need and should last me indefinitely, as they will be used on aluminum. I like them for the price and build quality.

Not made in China.
For the price, this is a great set. Plastic case they came in said Made in Japan. So that made me feel good. All I needed was the bottoming tap, so I could chase the threads in my engine block for my cylinder head. The tap has a slight bend to it. Bend is not in the threads, so it still works. Only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5.

Cheaper and better than heli-coil.
Worked great. I used this on a head stud for a go kart that stripped out. The heli-coil I put in before came out at only 15 ft-lbs. Also cheaper than the heli-coils even after buying the solid inserts as well. Also, the three taps are not identical, they gradually cut the threads to get them where they need to be. If you look at them closely you can tell the difference. You only need to use all three if you are tapping brand new threads.

The taps seem to be decent and a very good deal for the price
The taps seem to be decent and a very good deal for the price, but the 3 that I received, 2 were approx. 12.5 mm and the other was 13 mm. Should have checked dimensions before using.

Exactly As Advertised/Described
Product is exactly as described, used it on an aluminum frame for a shifter lever bolt that broke off inside and had to be drilled out. Made great threads. I may yet get more use out of them. Good value!
