Reels Rockaway Surf 4Bb + 1Rb 5.3:1, Multi

Most all my inshore setups have Okuma reels on them. Great value for the money. I got this reel for one of my surf fishing setups. Ive used conventional reels for years and wanted to get a spinner setup. This one really fits the bill. It didn't cost a fortune and works very well. Very smooth drag and great overall performance. I put it on an Okuma Fishbites signature 12' rod and it makes for a very well balanced combo. Im looking forward to add some more of this heat to my surf fishing setups. Very happy with this reel. Looking forward to making some new surf fishing videos soon.

Great reel, light weight, well built! Smooth running!

The reel is just as the price suggests. Overall not a bad reel, but don't expect top level performance at this price point. The line lay is decent, but there is some wobble of the spool during high stress cranking periods. The drag system is smooth but does not have a very wide range. The reel is relatively light in weight and should last in the salt water environment. This is not a reel built for heavy line, perhaps 20 lb test at best or you may risk overloading the gears fighting saltwater bruisers.

Really liked the look and feel of this reel spooled it up and paired it with a 10 foot rod. Hooked up on a couple fish and a big stingray… when fighting the reel had a lot of flex to it and was really wobbly. Wasn’t sure if I was gonna keep it but decided to keep it anyways and just get used to it.

This reel goes great with Okuma Rockaway rod. I use it for surf perch and rockfish. Casts far and reel has been very reliable.

The Good: Bought is reel as a part of what I wanted to be a lightweight surf combo meant strictly to fish lures. This reel fit the bill of what I wanted. The whole combo weight 1 lbs 11 oz, which is less then my 8000 Penn Fierce reel only (2 lbs). The Bad: With the frame on a large body reel being graphite (or graphite enforced plastic), I was worried about how it was going to hold up. The Ugly: After I walked a mile down the jetty, I was only my 8th cast with a 1 ½ oz Rapala, and on the retrieve (steady and slow) the handle froze and couldn't be cranked. The reel wouldn't turn. Hit the disengage on the instant anti-reverse and tried to crank the handle backward. Nothing. Worked the handle back and forth gently, and then with some force. Nothing. Finally, with force, I was able to get the reel to spin again, but spool no longer oscillates and there is a grinding sound when you reel. I can understand if the reel broke while fighting a large jack, but I hadn't even caught a fish yet. Reel was under minimal strain and froze up and busted. Very disappointed.

Unboxing . Without trying and looking at the big three it has a ton of surf reel features. Fast drag simple reel the rod match is light good both economical I am impressed you don't hear a lot about the reel at all.Not going to send this back and look sold out most places. Buy both as a match in this case

I really loved this real paired with a rockaway surf rod. Unfortunately a sting ray pulled my rig into the water the first time. But I liked it so much I immediately order the same rod and reel. It fought two large stingrays with out a hitch. The combination of the Okuma rod and reel is lightweight, sensitive and strong.

Surf reel for light mono. I also have the Okuma 8000 surf reel. This 6000 is much lighter. Holds over 350m of 15lb line. Mono is better for fishing closer to shore. Gets better quality of fish

Arrivato ieri e provato subito! Okuma taglia 6000 mi è sembrato un mulinello per il surfcasting leggero. La sua maneggevolezza è notevole. Ho apprezzato particolarmente la precisione dei movimenti della frizione. Le spazzole laterali sono un dettaglio pratico e molto comodo per evitare fastidiosi grovigli del filo, soprattutto utilizzando nylon di diametro 0.20 o 0.25 mm ( io ho imbobinato uno 0.25).
