Cute Adventure, but No Mystery
Part of a series of books about four boys who have a Mystery Club in their hometown. They take time off from sleuthing to attend Space Camp. The kids a good mix of humor and learning as the group participates in camp activities. I am disappointed by the lack of a mystery to solve, although I did wonder about the bananas. I read this along with my 11 year old nephew who was assigned this novel for a book report.

We love this series
We love this series, especially its focus on a group of young Black boys. My son is hungry to read stories about young boys of color like him and these boys are loads of fun. My only complaint is the stereotypical and unrealistic way they have Ziggy, the Jamaican character, speak. He ends every sentence with "mon". They could have done a less stereotypical and more realistic portrayal. But all the books we've read in this series are big hits in our house and get read over and over again. Very appropriate for 6-8 year olds.

Four Stars
Good book. I love how Draper usually manages to include a little history or flashbacks in her story.

Love this series!
I have a 6 year old who loves to read. It is very difficult to find books that appeal to African-American boys but the 'Clubhouse Mysteries', (aka The Black Dinosaurs) are perfect for him.
