Imagine a passionate man laying in a hospital bed, pulling out his own IV's to assure he speaks at an important meeting that could have a significant outcome upon the company he worked for and the employees he led. That is the author; anyone not inspired to give it their all after reading this book needs to check their pulse.

I took so many ideas away from reading this book! The advice is so simple, logical and has a systematic approach which personally works great for me. Whether you are just starting a career or leading a large corporate team with many challenges, this book can give you a fresh and fast approach to improve your life and make some positive things happen. I just purchased more books to share with my team. I read the book at a time in my life that I needed a little boost to get a better perspective on my career and my life.

I have purchased many self-help and motivational books over the years, but this one is exceptional. The author uses his own personal experiences to share with his readers how to overcome situations and find success in both their personal and professional lives. It is extremely well written and filled with timeless suggestions and advice. I would highly recommend this book.

I am reading the book as well as attending Bob's seminar at the University of Iowa. Bob draws from his experiences at a major avionics company to deliver an insightful book that dedicated to helping the reader become who they want to be. Bob has also spent many years mentoring those around him and sharing his life with others, making a positive difference in people's lives. It's individuals like Bob who are moving our world forward. I hope, through what I have learned in "Mediocracy is not an Option," that I will become one of those same individuals for my generation.

This book had a lot of great stories within it that you can learn from to help better yourself and your career. There is a lot of great topics covered in this book that can help you professionally. After reading this book I feel motivated to think ahead about my career and really do all I can to better myself and my career. Great book and well worth your time to read it.

As a young person early on in their career, I’m constantly looking for ways to learn and advance in my career. It has been difficult to find the right resources to help, naturally I’ve read many books to find guidance but most fall flat…Mediocrity is Not an Option is definitely not one of those books. Specifically, the section around mentorship was extremely helpful! Learning how to prepare, find and approach a mentor is indispensable information. This book is a great read that I refer back to often. It is absolutely CRUCIAL for anyone starting out in their career, looking to grow and learn the essentials to being the best you can possibly be.

Reading this book is just what I needed to begin making changes and take an active role in my professional development. When I first started my career I set goals, had mentors and felt like I was making a difference every day. Over the years much of that has fallen by the wayside. After reading this book I have renewed energy and feel empowered to make a change. This book provides step by step instructions on how to assess my current situation, set goals, attract mentors, and carry out a plan for success. I'm really enjoying my new journey with this book as my guide. I highly recommend it.
