Absolutely perfect as a cheap alternative to cycling cable cutters
I'm the type of cyclist that will build a several thousand dollar bike but cringe at the prices for most cycling specific tools. Almost all of it is marked up absurdly high for no other reason than cycling is still a niche sport.I needed to replace my Park Tool cutters and came across these in a suggested area by Amazon.Other than the fact these showed up a little scratched up, their cutting ability is absolutely as advertised. I absolutely recommend these!Thoughts:1. I know most of you are buying these for thicker cabling. So, I did venture out to the garage and cut various thicknesses of cabling. I can confirm these handle what they claim to.2. Build quality is solid.3. My only real nit with these is that when you open them up all the way, if you don't have very large hands as I do, you're going to struggle with getting your hand around them in the wide open stance. In sum, these are absurdly cheap for what you get. They are more than worth the price and perform as claimed. Buy them.Cheers!

Hundreds of cuts and still working without little hand fatigue.
Excellent pair of bypass shears. I have been using them for over a year to cut the 14-gauge galvanized wire that makes up welded wire fencing. It slices through the wire effortlessly. With these I can zip through the 16 wires to cut fencing to make custom tree truck cages for new tree establishments. And at the end of the day I have almost no hand fatigue. I definitely recommend them; In fact, I have since purchased two more pairs for my colleagues.

Works great, Don't Spend More.
Works great, don't know why you'd spend more. Only question surrounds the warranty. Almost all hand tools purchased from brick and mortar stores(even Harbor Freight) come with no-questions-asked lifetime warranties. What happens to this when in breaks?I use it to cut bicycle brake and shifter cable. For this purpose, it works flawlessly. Cuts quick and clean.Overall very happy, I'm of the opinion that most of these are made in the same factory and that brand name, not quality, dictate price.***My Rating Criteria***5 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect when purchasing this type of product AND it is a good value4 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect when purchasing this type of product, might have a minor flaw3 Stars: Generally works but I'd change a few things OR Product works great but differs from description/images2 Stars: Barely works but can be made useful if you try1 Star: Useless, does not perform it's intended function whatsoever and is generally a waste of money

Good value but my copy had a wonky closure
Use this to recable a good bike that just needed some care. Cut the housings and cables fine so I'm happy with how it performed. I cannot speak to the durability of the item yet, though. The only issue is that the closure, lock mechanism is very touchy and can come undone very easily, if jostled. Not the biggest deal and I'll still keep it but it was moderately annoying at first until i kind of figure out where to position the latch to give it the best chance to hold closed.

Excellent, for the price
Needed to cut cables and housings, but was too cheap to spend $30 - $50 on something I'd only use a few times. Tried tin snips and electrical cable cutters (intended for copper wire, not stainless steel). Neither worked - the cuts were messy, lots of fraying. My dremel tool worked, but wasn't so convenient and still required a bit of filing to clean up the cuts.Saw this cutter for the $8 and gave it a try. This cutter is a must have at this price. It's made perfect, clean cuts so far and has saved me time I'd have to spend cleaning up bad cuts. After one bike, it's kept its edge. If it dulls, I can try sharpening it with a sharpening stone. Even if it only lasts a few cable changes, it'll have been worth it. BTW, this cutter looks exactly like another one sold on Amz for twice the price. Pretty sure it's the same thing.

Excellent!
This cuts 1/16 inch stranded steel cable like butter and leaves a clean cut without fraying.I've also used it dozens of times to cut 14 gauge (0.08 inch) solid fence wire and it cuts without much effort and seems to keep its sharpness.Excellent value for the price!

This tool works GREAT on braided steel wire.
I was having trouble cutting braided galvanized steel wire using my available tools, include heavy duty wire cutters, standard sheet metal cutters, and an oscilatting multi-tool.This tool worked wonderfully. Multiple cuts and still going strong. The wire I was cutting was 14-gauge.
