Glass Bottle Cutter, Upgraded Bottle Cutting Tool Kit for Round Bottles

I've had this bottle cutting tool for over a year and it never works the way the manufacturer says it should - It's junk! If you're a hobbiest making drinking glasses, jars for candles, decorative glasses for plants, or whatever it may be, don't buy this. The instructions are not clear, items that come with the "Kit" don't work the way they're supposed to work. When questioned for clarity about something, there are no definitive answers or guidance from the manufacturer. All I get are answers that mention what other customers did to correct the problem or what other customers did by trial and error to make it work. You get what you pay for!

⭐☆☆☆☆ — Terrible Design for Real-World Use I’m a general contractor and work with tools and adjustable equipment constantly. My next-door neighbor runs the maintenance department at a local university and is also a former contractor. Between the two of us, we’ve adjusted and operated just about everything imaginable. This bottle cutter has one of the worst adjustment systems I’ve ever seen. The Amazon description makes it sound “adjustable and easy to use,” but that is absolutely not the reality. Every time you change bottle sizes, nearly the entire machine has to be partially disassembled and reassembled. The problem is the slotted adjustment tracks. They use oversized teeth that prevent the screws from simply sliding through the slots like a normal adjustable tool would. Instead, for EACH adjustment point, you have to: completely remove the screws catch the loose nuts from falling off reposition the wheel assembly guess where it needs to go reinstall everything tighten it back down test the bottle then repeat the entire process again if alignment is off There are SIX separate adjustment points. Changing from one bottle size to another means starting this process all over again. There is no quick adjustment system, no smooth sliding mechanism, and no practical repeatability. A properly designed tool would allow the wheels to slide and lock into place quickly. This does not. The actual materials look decent at first glance, but the engineering and usability are unbelievably poor. It feels like nobody who designed this ever actually used it. After about 3–4 minutes of trying to set it up, my neighbor looked at it and said, “This is the worst piece of crap I’ve ever seen. Send it back.” That’s exactly what I’m doing. Would not recommend.

I hope to save others the time and hassle. This is junk and a total PITA. First, there are 5 wheels and one cutter, and each incremental adjustment requires you to completely remove 12 tiny screws and nuts. Very time consuming and frustrating. On top of that, bottles with curves or angles are next to impossible to cut, not to mention trying to get the support wheels aligned. So unless you’re very patient and have all straight sides bottles, don’t buy.

This thing stinks. It does not cut glass properly. I’ve tried the instructional way, and then even bought a pair of glass pliers to snap along the score, but the glass never breaks cleanly. I even had my friend, who does stained glass classes, try it out and she said it was no good. Spend the extra $ on a better quality tool, you won’t regret it.

This glass bottle cutter is complete junk. The "upgraded precision" is a joke — the wheel barely scores the glass, and when you try to snap it, the bottle either shatters unevenly or doesn't break at all. Wasted two hours and ruined several good bottles. Cheaply made, frustrating, and totally useless. Save your money.

First off most of the good reviews for this are for the cutting pen, NOT THE BOTTLE CUTTER! Not sure why Amazon mixes the reviews. The bottle cutter is ABSOLUTE garbage! It’s a nightmare to set up and especially adjust for the bottle size you are using. Instead of being able to loosen the screws, adjusting, and then retighten the screws for the rollers, You have to remove the screws COMPLETELY, reposition the roller, and retighten! Next both cutting heads are dull as crap straight out of the box. Finally they don’t tell you, in order to use this properly you cut off 3/4 of the bottle making this useless for cutting bottles for wind chimes. I tried flipping the bottle around to actually get a decent length bottle cut for a wind chime and It’s so JANKY I went through 7 bottles that never split to only get one that was jaggedI had to keep for myself. Don’t be another sucker like me!

Time consuming to adjust and doesn’t cut well. Hasn’t adjusted properly for any bottle I’ve tried to cut yet. If you want to adjust something it has to be completely removed via wing nuts and bolts instead moving along slotted holes.

So far I used it one time trying to cut tempered glass for a window. I went above and beyond the instructions and scored both sides of the glass with the correct cutter head. When it came time to snap the glass, it shattered. Instructions said that it cut tempered glass but obviously it doesn't. I'll try on normal glass but so far I'm not impressed. If it does better on normal glass, I'll adjust the review.

Works well, Sharpe and accurate. Nice in the hand.

We just tried it out. Not cutting evenly. Will need to practice more to see if it is the product quality or person’s ability.
