Master Magnetics Strong Magnet with Ergonomic Handle - 100 lb Pull Force, Red, 07501

I ordered this magnet to use in my knife making hobby. When a blade is heat treated, it will often warp during quenching. The warp usually has to be ground out and that's hard to do without a magnet to hold the blade flat on the platen. This magnet works really well. It is super strong and when it grabs hold of the knife, it takes brute force to remove it. That's what I want because I don't like knife blades flying around my shop. This magnet has a nice sturdy handle, and it's just the right size for my needs. The price was really reasonable, and it comes with removable shields that prevent the magnet from grabbing things that you don't want grabbed. I recommend it highly and would definitely buy it again.

Strong magnet, easy to hold and move around using its handle. I use it to quickly erase old video tapes, and it works great. Reasonably priced.

Arrived in good condition with magnetic blockers in place. The handle has a wide grip that is great for carrying heavy loads. It's rated up to 100 lbs, but I have not tested it to that extent yet. I have used it up to 50 or 60lbs of metal sheeting and shelving and it has worked well to carry that. I even mounded it in a vise to hold a sheet and it did well to keep it in place. I store it with the slide on blocks that it came with and I have no problem keeping it around other metal tools or even having it hanging on my tool belt. it has yet to fail me in anything I have needed it for. it's lightweight and works well in almost any situation. i like this and keep it handy for clean up and practical use around my house.

This magnet barely holds 25 pounds of steel with the magnet placed solidly on the metal and in absolute center. I purchased this magnet primarily to pick up screws and nails, and for that it is very useful and perfect with the ergonomic grip. So I’ll keep it for this purpose at this price point. However, I find it relevant to test It’s advertised capacity of 100 pounds and found that it falls extremely short. It arrived in a box loosely bouncing around because it had popped out of its packaging, which was a clear plastic shell that does not seal well. I only mentioned that because if you purchase more than one thing, it may be loose in the box and it may be of concern because it is still a magnet, even though it has the shields on it. I’m open to the possibility I may have received a weaker magnet, and this may be a quality control issue. I have used magnets in the past that are small, but very powerful. I would not describe this as one of those.

A useful cleanup and tidy tool in the shop when working with small matallic parts. Also good for making a zapper, if you know what I'm talking about. Works as intended.

Works exactly like I wanted it to. I’m using it to hold steel on my belt grinder and it’s nice and secure. Comfortable grip and good strength. Not sure if I’d try picking up 100lbs with it. But overall I like it
