Works great (with slight mod) for Harbor Freight Item# 68696 Variable Speed Rotary Tool
I've had my Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 35,000 RPM Variable Speed Rotary Tool for over a decade and have been mostly happy with it. Always hated the poor quality stock chuck which forced me to use a wrench/tool to fully tighten and remove the bits. Over time, the jaws deformed and the bits would wobble dangerously at moderate to high tool speeds. It got to the point where I started avoiding the tool. Then I decided to try my luck with this tool free chuck from Proxxon. Now my HF Rotary Tool is better than ever and I have zero fears about using it at high speed. The bits stay perfectly centered and get a positive mount every single time using just fingers and the stock yellow lock tab. Very minimal, almost non existent wobble throughout the whole speed range with all my attachments and bits.Very happy with this mod/repair and will absolutely recommend it to anyone.Minimal mods required, I don't recall fully but I think all I had to do was chop down the original circular plastic trim piece with a hacksaw blade to clear the deeper mounting base on the new chuck. I suppose you could use the tool without the trim ring, but I prefer to keep it on. See my detailed pics.

Proxxon 28941 MICROMOT Three Jaw Keyless Chuck for rotary tools.
I bought this micro keyless chuck to use with my rotary tool (dremel type) and replace a bunch of collets. This chuck WILL FIT DEVICES WITH SPINDLE OUTER DIAMETER 8 mm and METRIC THREAD 0.75 mm STEP ONLY. IT WILL NOT FIT ORIGINAL DREMEL DEVICES because they have spindle with DIFFERENT MECHANICAL DIMENTIONS. Before go to buy this chuck, measure outer diameter of yours device spindle to be sure in compatibility. This device is well made with high pricision and excelent fits my device, the China made FUNCTIONAL analog of the Dremel 4000 motor. There are NO any wobblings up to highest speed of 38K r.p.m. It is fantastic. One recommendation about how to use this chuck - simply replace the collet's locking nut with this chuck and DON'T remove collet from hole. That's it, nothing more, and it will serve you very well.I've placed my order on Friday and got it on next Monday at noon - excelent delivery speed.I'll recommend this high quality product for COMPATIBLE devices.

Does Not Fit All Proxxon - Check Your Model First!
Breaks my heart as I had wanted one of these for a long time. Couldn't remember to order! Finally did and was very disappointed that it does not fit my IB/E motor tool. And theyapparently don't make one that does according to the Proxxon web presence.I'll eat it because if I had read the picture of the wrapper more closely, it actually excludes mymodel number.I only gave it 4 Stars because what playing with it I was able to do showed the teeth did notclose evenly. It might be better in use on the proper tool, but it seems just like the cheapone that went on my old Dremel that flew apart years ago.

Works great.
Works great installed it on my Wen rotary tool that had been wearing out the brass coulets. It took a little bit of rigging to get it to work. It works great without a tool, push the Locking button to lock the shaft and just twist and the fingers loosen and you can remove the bit. Tighten with the button pressed and it secures the bit very well.I had to cut the tip of the blue plastic off around the threaded shaft very easily with a small saw. I then used the rotary tool itself to hollow out the black finger protector because the tooless chuck fits inside of it slightly.Works great, no more wrench when changing out the bits on my Wen rotary tool.

Works with 12V systems
This 3 Jaw chuck feels decent, and the quality is good. Bit engagement is positive, and the chuck allows for very deep insertion. Unlike other reviews that claim it doesn't work with the 12V systems, it does indeed work with the 12V system. It is difficult to figure out how to insert it so that it works, which may be confusing some people. The threaded shaft is covered by a sleeve. This sleeve is removable, and will expose more threads as needed. Just unscrew the sleeve to expose enough thread to screw this on and insert bits. The sleeve is right below the shaft-lock button. Proxxon quality is so good, that the sleeve is precision-fit, and thus people do not realize it is a separate unit.

Works Great!
I bought this for my Chicago Variable Speed Rotary Tool(item #68696). It fits perfectly. If you don't want to do any major modifications to the Rotary Tool, just unscrew the black nose cap and screw the Proxxon Micromot three jay keyless chuck on. If you want to do just a little bit of modifications, take the black nose cap and grind the outside hole of the nose cap until it will fit over the keyless chuck and then just screw the black nose cap back on. Make sure the nose cap hole is not snug to the keyless chuck.

DOES NOT WORK ON PROXXON ROTARY TOOL
As other reviews say, it does not work on the Proxxon tool. They have made the shank on the tool too short or the chuck threads and length are too long. I don't know what they were thinking. I SPECIFICALLY ordered this chuck because it was advertised along with the rotary tool. When I attempted to return it, they said they would issue a credit and I wasn't required to return the chuck. But so what? Its useless anyhow.
