100% Better — Clean Sound and Smart Design
I wasn’t expecting such a dramatic improvement, but this speaker wire completely transformed my setup. The sound is cleaner, fuller, and way more grounded — the bass has returned and the overall clarity is outstanding. It feels like my speakers finally came alive. One of my favorite features is how flat the cable is — it tucks perfectly under a rug without any bulge or lift. Makes for a clean, invisible installation without compromising sound quality.Durable, easy to work with, and the performance speaks for itself. If you’re even thinking about upgrading your speaker wire, this is absolutely worth it.

Not as slim as ghost wire, but much easier to use.
I have previously used ghost wire from Sewell and it was definitely lower profile but it was also not easy to work with and ended up falling off the wall. This wire is much heavier but still narrow compared to most speaker wires. For the floor, I ended up getting a cheap rug pad from wal mart and trimming to fit around the wire, thus making the wire “level” with the pad. Then I put another soft pad and rug on top. I can still feel it honestly but it doesn’t leave visible lines in the rug as it did before adding the second pad. It’s difficult in areas where the run isn’t straight but I’m happy overall with the price and function, especially compared to the Sewell ghost wire.

Clean and simple…
The flat 16 gauge speaker wire stays hidden under the carpet or wood floors to maintain a nice clean look and works great. Because the wire is flat, it bends easily to come up from the floor and attach to your speakers. However, it does not bend like normal round cable so plan your cable route carefully. If you are not use to stripping speakers wire, cut off a small piece and practice. The cable is not marked + and - but there is writing on one side and not the other. I use the side with writing as my + side. Either side will work, just be consistent so the polarity isn’t compromised.

Great product, can't find anything similar for close to this price
By far the cheapest flat wire I could find, and doesn't require special, expensive adapters. While it's flat, it is standard wire inside that can be inserted directly into speakers, and it was actually quite easy to strip the tips with a standard wire stripper. Another great item from Monoprice, I was able to run this under a rug without being able to feel it when stepped on, unlike regular, 16 gauge speaker wire. Also ran it up a couple walls to surround speakers and its hardly noticeable, lays nicely flat and adhered with some archival double sided tape for now. My only 'complaint' is tht this doesn't seem to come in white, but the ivory is close enough for my needs and actually worked out better for my off-white walls.

Better than wireless, and nearly as invisible
This high quality cable solved my problem of needing to run a rear-channel wire around a wide door and picture window in our TV room. I was able to attach the cable along the edge of the moulding using ordinary thumbtacks. No one even notices that the wire is there, unless I point it out. The two conductors inside the cable are spaced wide enough apart to avoid shorting out from a thumbtack inserted through the center of the plastic shielding. Very handy stuff!

I purchased this to run rear channel speakers and a subwoofer. I pried the baseboard away from the wall at the front of the room where my receiver is, and also in the back where the sub and rear surround channels would be placed. I then popped the carpet off the tack strip, and peeled the pad back after unstapling it from the subfloor. I cut a several inch section of the tack strip away where I was going to place low voltage mounting brackets in the wall, for access to the wires. Next close to the floor, just above where the sole plate of the wall would be, I cut about a 1" tall by 5" side slot. This allowed me to route these flat wires up into the wall cavity and through the low voltage ring I installed. I taped them to the floor, making sure to keep them flat, and repeated the process of cutting the slot in the drywall, and running the wires within the wall cavity. Finally I put the baseboard back in place in both locations, making sure not to nail in the location where the wires are run. I put the pad back in place, and rented a knee kicker carpet stretcher from the local home improvement store to put the carpet back onto the tack strips. A little caulk along the edges where I pried the baseboard from the wall, and a little touch up paint, and got accolades from the wife for a job well done. Took me about 4 hours in total, and I can't even tell where the wires are at, with them run under both the carpet and pad. Much easier than any of the other approaches I would have had to take in this location.

Flat wire: Very good for straight runs under an area rug. Less than ideal for angles.
Flat wire:As expected, it is very good for straight runs under an area rug. That said...It's less than ideal for angles.
