I bought this for a window storage seat that I made for my house, and it has certainly met my expectations. They work well but think the instructions made it over complicated. I worried I was making it too simple & tried to refer to video they give you QR code for in instructions- been removed from utube so thats useless. I refered back to good old Amazon reviews & that worked the best. Screws included in box. Nicely packaged. Fit in about 10mins. Used both as it was a big heavy lid. Work well in tandem. Soft closes nicely. Very pleased.

Nice soft close hinges that operate well. Would have been a five star review but for the inadequacy of the template. The Template is inadequate as can be seen from the images and does not align with the holes in the hinges. It offers an approximation so that is useful I suppose and there is also a 'how to install' measurement in an accompanying booklet to assist. The manufacturer needs to review the template.

This is a great product, robust and easy to install. It comes with a template to allow for a perfect fit. I had tried a few other less expensive options none of which worked successfully, the slow close worked until it got to around 30 degrees then the lid slammed shut. The Douper keeps a consistent speed all the way till close. The hinges are expensive but you do get what you pay for.

Instructions are scant. There is a video on YouTube for the type that holds a lighter lid, but my lid was very heavy and what I bought was different . If there is a video for this type, I didn’t find it. I found the hinge kept ‘circling’ making lining the screws up with the holes tricky. I ‘braked’ it by using a piece of sticky tape on the arm to stop it spinning. Once I did that, they were a dream to fit. Once fitted, they are wonderful. The lid is held steady when the lid is open, and when pushed, shuts slowly and beautifully. I can’t believe how good they are, my box lid is extremely heavy, or that a non-DIY type like me fitted them. It really was easy. If your lid is heavy, remember not to go past 90 degrees.

Really happy with the soft closing mechanisms. There are well made, very easy to fit and work a treat. These lids in our kitchen were lethal before, such a difference. They are guaranteed for 2 years so I am pretty confident they will stand the rest of time.

These hinges were very easy to install and work perfectly on the heavy lid of our blanket box that's been re-commisioned as a toy box

Carpenter here. These hinges were to be fitted to a hardwood toy box, approx 1m x 0.5m, and the box took about 50 hours to complete. As mentioned by other reviewers the template used to fit the hinge is not the correct size. This is easily fixed if you are expecting it, but would be a problem if you used the template straight from the box. Once fitted, the hinges did not work. So much force had to be applied to the lid of the box to close it that I was concerned that the lid or the brass hinges at the rear of the lid would break. There was no 'slow motion' action. As I have now drilled holes in the finished box to fit this type of hinge my options are a little limited, - I do not want holes visible in the finished job. I have returned the hinges and re ordered another pair, hoping that the fault with the first pair won't be repeated. I'll post another review on receipt of the second pair.

My father-in-law built our son a toy box when he was a baby and he used the standard big box store lid supports. The problem was you couldn’t really effectively adjust the supports to keep the lid from slamming shut. Either it was too tight or too loose. I found these supports and while they were a little more than I wanted to spend, the positive reviews led me to purchase them. They were super easy to install and exactly what we were looking for. With the lid pushed all the way back, the supports will actually keep the lid in the open position. When pushed down it slowly closes the lid. No more little fingers being smashed! Once the boys put some mileage on these supports, I’ll stop back to update. So far, so good!

Schon mehrfach verbaut und super zufrieden mit dem Produkt. Zwar sind die Scharniere auch nicht ganz günstig, aber habe leider noch nichts vergleichbares auf dem deutsche Markt gefunden zu einem günstigeren Preis. Habe sie in vier Spielzeugkisten verbaut und sie halten super.

We first tried some other supports that were rated for the size and weight of our toy trunk lids, and while cheaper, they just didn't work on a number of points: 1) they took many, many attempts to install correctly, 2) when finally installed, they let the lid slam once it was 3/4 closed, 3) and finally the bracket bent during only the installation process. So, we sent those back, I did a ton more research, and then we got these instead. Wow. WORLDS apart! Worth every penny. First, they are very high quality and sturdy. Then, they were so, SO simple to install. The instructions were clear, the measurements accurate, and therefore I had them installed FIRST TRY in about 5 minutes with just a ruler, pencil and screwdriver. Next, they come with a really handy chart that recommends 1 or 2 supports depending on the size and weight of your lid. Even though the chart recommended 2 for our lids, I tried 1 first since you have to install them one at a time anyway. Just one worked great in all respects: the lid stayed open 90º, but once pulled past that point it closed slowly and softly. However, I went ahead and installed a second one as well so the support wasn't overworked, and noticed that the speed with which it closes is about half with 2 supports than with just 1. I tried uploading videos of both to show the comparison, but Amazon only permits one video per review. So the video posted is with 2 supports. Cute 2-year-old shown for scale. I hope this helps others decide to buy these, because we're immensely happy with them!

Qualität gut, Einbauhinweise leider sehr ungenau. Optimale Einbaulage muss deshalb ausprobiert werden.

Decent product, used just one on a small toy box. The lid is fairly heavy but these are very strong hinges so it takes some muscle to close it, but I guess that’s better than pinched fingers. I tried a couple other hinges but none fit the narrow depth of my toy box. I was hoping the hinges had some adjustment for strength but if they do I couldn’t figure it out.
